What about wine, champagne, mimosas, bloody mary's...things you would drink at a brunch.

I would suggest talking to the bartender(s) you intend on using for your reception, or asking them during the interview process what they would suggest.
Hardcore drinkers will get drunk if you provide alcohol, but you could stay away from things that have a high alcohol content like beer and the more clear wines like Arbor Mist, which I really like. I don't drink beer, but some have more alcohol than others.
I suppose, you could always make people pay for alcohol drinks, and give them all the free sodas and mock-cocktails they want free. Of course, if you do that you would probably want to serve champagne with dinner.

While you don't *have* to have alcohol, if you're going to serve it, keep in mind that if somebody has it in their mind that they're going to get drunk, they'll drink all it takes to get there regardless of the available alcohol content.
Obviously blends such as mimosas and sangria where wine is cut with juice and such, thus reducing the alcohol content, will work. White wine is pretty much wedding-y, and of course champagne or sparkiling wine is almost a given at any celebratory event, *particularly* at weddings.
Just trust your friends and relatives to be responsible and know that there's always one or two that despite all good intentions lose track of when to say "when."
Congrats on the wedding, by the way :)

As regards Beer, go for a good brand name but one that is lower than 4%. With wines I'd go for a German white wine. Most of these are very refreshing but tend to be lower in alcohol content. A good example of this is 'Blue Nun'. Don't go for the 'Alcohol Free' or '0.5% stuff...that's, quite frankly, crap!
Also, someone mentioned 'Sangria'. This is an excellent idea. It's a drink often associated with special occasions such as weddings but can be quite low in alcohol.
Finally, have a great day!

You don't necessarily have to have alcohol to keep everyone happy. The people will be plenty happy and excited after seeing the wedding. I'd suggest wine or another alcohol that's known for social events.

The best thing to have is beer and wine. If you have liquor then you will have a lot of drunks running around and of course wine and beer is cheaper and will save you money!

Try making a batch of sangria. You can cut the potency by adding extra sparkling water or additional fruit juice. Its festive and not too heavy.

Congratulations first off. Just have an open bar, a display of fine wine and champagne, and that orange juice and champagne mix, that shits good.
