That's easy! Add some HOT SALSA or TABASCO SAUCE! Both are tomatoe based products, and trust me, they will definitely add some SPICE to your sauce!!! As far as I'm concerned, THE HOTTER the better! Of course, being from an Italian background, I will NOT eat spaghetti without a generous helping of HOT PEPPERS AND GRATED PARMESIAN CHEESE all over that LOVELY plate of spaghetti and sauce! And of course, adding some ground beef or MEAT BALLS to the mix won't hurt either! Throw in a nice salad, Italian dressing, and some garlic bread, and MMMMM MMMMM MMMMM! Mama mia! Delicioso!!! Manga baby!!! (Man! Now I'm gettin' hungry!)

Search for Arrabiata sauce on the web. It is a red tomato based sauce with red chilies (crushed or dried whole) added to it for some zing.

(I tried a Babel Fish translation of the word Arrabiata and it came out "had rabies", which I am guessing is wrong. Or, the sauce makes you feel rabid after eating it.)

Here is once recipe from the BBC web site:
--------------

Pasta with Arrabiata Sauce†

Ingredients
140-200g/5-7oz dried penne pasta
2 tsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
5 organic vine tomatoes, chopped
½ lemon, zest only
½ tsp crushed dried chilli flakes
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp caster sugar
2 tsp chopped fresh flatleaf parsley
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method
1. Half fill a medium saucepan with water. Season with salt and bring to the boil.
2. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions.
3. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan.
4. Stir in the garlic and chopped tomatoes until warmed through.
5. Add the lemon zest, chilli flakes, vinegar and sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
6. Drain the pasta, then stir it into the sauce. Season.
7. Serve sprinkled with chopped parsley.

I loooove chili garlic sauce (Vietnamese or Thai style.) Mmmmm. Salty, garlicky, smooth strong chili pepper flavor. Awesome! Crushed red pepper is good, too, or Crystal or Frank's Red Hot (I don't like the weird fermented flavor of Tabasco as much.)

I love sage, and maybe a little rosemary. For a Greek twist, try cinnamon or cinnamon and a little clove--warm and aromatic, but hard to figure out what the spice is when you eat it. Probably not all of the above.

Chili powder, for real, it won´t be too spicy when diluted in the sauce and will have a unique taste AND you probably have some. Good Luck!
