Some of us don't know the answers to our problems and our parents, the counselour, or even our friends won't help with them and we're stuck answering and asking questions on here.

i think to some degree confidentiality and anonymity matters. you can ask questions you wouldn't ask people you know. and even if you get ten bad/smart *** answers, i imagine most people hope they might get one good one.
also i'm sure some people are hoping to get an objective answer especially when addressing personal problems.
