Could he use a new UPDATED atlas ? Those are always nice to have in the car when traveling and he will use it for years to come !!

A bottle of his favorite drink, to relax at night after a long day on the road, the older set usually likes single malt scotches or decent Cognac, figure 30+ dollars for this.

give him a picture of u and his children and the other grandchildren and a big ol' pack of sweets and maybe a a new piece of gear he may need on this trip!!!!!!
