I received only a few answers to my earlier question (see below) about faith taking account of our place in the universe. Should religious faith acknowledge the larger universe or only our tiny blue orb of a planet?

(Feel free to answer the earlier question, too.)

Serious questions receive very few answers on any Y!A's forum.

It seems the average age of Y!A's participants is about 12.

Bible based religions cannot accommodate our infinite and eternal universe because an infinite & eternal universe would need no creator nor would it accomodate any such entity.

All efforts to detect life beyond earth have failed so far..... the moon was a sterile, lifeless place, the search moved to the other planets and their moons. Viking probes experiments designed to detect life, with negative results...Two Voyager craft whose destinations included Jupiter, Saturn, and UranusÑeptune have taken thousands of pictures of the outer solar systems.

They reveal harsh, nonlivable conditions everywhere... radio telescopes, instruments that are able to beam messages of greeting toward any planets that might be circling distant stars. Radio telescopes also "listen" for any space messages once again completely negative......Some have claimed that the "sons of God" and/or the Nephilim of Genesis 6:4 were aliens.....
details about the end of the world.

The universe will, at some future point, be rolled up like a scroll Isaiah 34:4 , Revelation 6:14 . If God had created living beings elsewhere, this would automatically destroy their dwelling place ...Adam's sin caused all of creation to be affected by the Curse, so why would a race of beings, not of Adam's (sinful) seed, have their part of creation affected by the Curse...that would be totally unfair....Jesus made it clear that angels do not engage in sexual activities, at least not angels in heaven Matthew 22:30 .

Nevertheless, evil angels on earth could have used the bodies of ungodly men, by demonic possession, to achieve their evil purpose of producing an evil generation of people Genesis 6:12.

no extraterrestrials have been discovered...EVER!.... no evidence whatsoever that there is life any other place than earth. ........based only on a belief in evolution...alll they have is speculation..guesses.... If only nature exists, then it turns out that we are just parts of the machinery in the workings of nature, and we are the unwilling victims of the machinery of cause and effect happening over time without any plan. That robs human beings of their dignity.

.Evolutionists say it is of no consequence to his value and dignity if his ancestor was pond scum. Somebody's worth and dignity is not determined by their location because what they are is what is critical. ...

Where I am doesn't dictate what I am...., which by the way is one of my arguments against abortion...... Why is a 20 week old premature baby protected because it is outside of the womb and a 20 week old gestation unborn child is not protected inside the womb? They are the same thing, they are just in a different location.... Chance is chance. If you are the product of chance, then you weren't planned, and a thing that is not planned can't have a destiny.

For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him. Col 1:16

And, "You, Lord, have laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands Heb 1:10

And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. Gen 1:15-18

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens belong to Jehovah your God, the earth also, with all in it. Deu 10:14

And the sun stood still, and the moon stood still, until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? And the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens, and did not hasten to go down about a whole day. Hos 10:13

For the stars of the heavens and their constellations shall not give light; the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not reflect its light. Isa 13:10

the cosmos has nothing to do with religion. If you look at the time when people started believing in gods and whatnot, they had no law of the land. Religion was created to answer all the unanswered questions. It was also used to keep the people in line. Religion is a man made construct that made sense at the time way back when, but holds little merit nowdays.

How important is the cosmos in discussing religion & spirituality?

Not at all.

Christianity acknowledges the "levels" of Heaven and the existence of the "heavens" and "realms" beyond our own.
