Coming from a woman that suffers from Bipolar I say there is nothing much you can do. My husband is so scared of saying or doing something wrong because at any minute I can blow my top. Basically just carry on your normal day to day routine and just offer a lot of love and support and try reducing any stress inducing situations or activities.
When she goes into one of her mood BACK OFF it's the best way. Just let us work it out in our heads and then when we are back to our normal self come and give us a hug offer to play a game or watch a movie or just take a walk and dont mention or argue about what just happen and make sure that if she has been prescribed medication to take it as told.

Do a search on NAMI. It is a group that specializes in support for people with mental health disabilities. Also check with your county mental health department and your/her doctor. They will likely have some listings.
can sympathize. I have known my husband for 14 years and he has always been impulsive but recently had a manic, paranoid delusional episode then was diagnosed as bi-polar. It explained a lot.
But here's a laugh for you. Unless she hops out of the car into the Emergency Room buck nude like my husband did, you're still one up on me.
p.s. medication does help, but usually people will resist it until they hit rock bottom. Took my threatening to take away the kids to get mine on meds.

Try finding a group for that on Yahoo. I belong to one for liver disease that has been very helpful. The members consist of people with the condition, care givers and professionals.

What is her diagnosis and is she on meds? Stress and a lot of other things can set someone off. You might consider telling her you want to help and see if she will take you with her to talk to her therapist, if she has one.

borderlines see things in a black and white way.. i mean things like "you love me or you hate me.. there is no in between..
borderlines have problems admitting there is a problem.. if youve gotten her to at least admit theres a problem, then there may be some hope.. if she hasnt come to grips with it after a reasonable time, then RUN dont walk away..

she needs to get into dialectical behavioral therapy...... it is the therapy with the best outcome for borderline patients....
it practically cured me of borderline personality disorder.......
dialectical behavioral therapy also known as DBT was created by Marsha Linehan .....google her and you should find out tons of info on DBT as well as if there is a therapist who practices DBT in your area......
