Omg, my worst nightmare. I do my hair every 6+ months (dying, etc) but I straighten my hair EVERY day and shampoo every other day. I put hot oil treatments in it once in a while but that seems to only be only helpful for a little bit. My hair is pretty dry now, and brittle at the ends, but I still get compliments on how soft my hair is and how pretty it is. So that's a relief.

I would definately reccomend seeing a professional. Go to a hair salon and ask them what you could do about it. You probably won't find the answer you're looking for online. If you get the answer in person, it's a lot clearer and specific. They'll let you know how you can get your hair in healthy condition again by maybe getting a re-contructor, depending on the condition of your hair and how you can fill in the bald spots. =] No worries, just seek a professional at a local hair salon you hear everyone talking about. Good luckkkk!

I had a similar problem with my hair & I used blow dryers & straightening irons but I learned the best thing to do is use a moisturizing conditioner & shampoo & use a leave in conditioner ... you might have to deal with it being just straight if it is & if its curly throw some mousse in it & most important let it air dry

Im sorry to say this but you damaged your hair good, Try using a gentle shampoo like suave daily clarifying shampoo. Don't brush your hair when its wet comb it gently. Lay off any curling irons, straightners, any heat devices. Try and let your hair dry naturally and gently towel dry it. Do not dye or highlight it as it causes more damage to hair. Consult your hair dresser for more treatment and they can recomend a shampoo or hair product to help treat your hair.

I feel your pain and I am in the same boat. Nioxin products from the salon is what you need. They have it at the cheaper salons (cost cotters etc) and if you have an Ulta in your area- they have it as well. I have also found that shorter hair makes a difference as well.

first you should make sure that you are using the right hair products. if you want to dye your hair dont use light colors but you should consider using the "Motions" hair product dont use the generic kind of hair products.
