That applies to anyone who repeatedly posts nonsensical drivel for the sole purpose of drawing attention to himself.

How is that amusing or entertaining?

Are people who spray paint personal messages on your private property likewise amusing?

If not, why not?

It is equivalent to vandalism or being a public nuisance.

If such people attempted to engage in equivalent behavior at a public meeting they would be expelled and if they returned, would be jailed.

I am specifically referring to those who do nothing other than repeatedly post the same mindless drivel.

We all have our moments of immaturity, including me, but it seems there are some who offer nothing other than their juvenile rantings.

"Free speech" does not provide for creating a public disturbance.

Y!A's has rules called "Terms of Service."

Repeated violations of those rules can be correctly considered to be creating a disturbance or nuisance since participants have the right to expect other participants will abide by those rules. And, that Y!A's will enforce those rules.

Y!A's TOS do not provide for using Y!A's as a personal web site to repeatedly post juvenile drivel.

I wholeheartedly agree, but until Yahoo goes and does something about it there isn't much that can be done.

And the freedom of speech argument doesn't fly here. That only applies to publically-owned avenues of speech and expression, and then to the government at that. It doesn't apply to Yahoo, which is a privately owned website. Therefore, since it is privately owned, Yahoo can ban whoever they want or allow any posts they want.

Well, what is to be done? I doubt that Yahoo is going to instate an entrance exam for participation. And they do have the community guidelines and terms of service, and the report tool, which proper use of tends to quickly "cause the disappearance" of people who repeatedly break the rules (advertising, spamming, insulting people, spreading hatred, repeated posts, and so forth). As for the ones that are permitted to remain because they operate within the guidelines, I just don't pay attention. It is up to me whether I become consumed with that which does not interest me. I don't respect it, and so I essentially ignore it. I mean, yes, it's right here in front of my eyes, since there is no ignore button for any particular user, but I just don't linger on the post of a user whom I know to be a consistent poster of nonsensical drivel for the purpose of drawing attention to him- or herself. It's not amusing, and it's not entertaining. This is one reason why I don't own a television--so as to prevent nonsensical drivel pretending to be entertaining from getting too close to me. But this forum has its merits, so I am currently willing to participate, even given the downsides.

I have often pondered the same question. They are juveniles, craving attention, and I think this is probably the only way they know to go about it. It is very frustrating to me to want to talk to someone intellegintly as I can about religion, and we get everything but religion on here. Case in point: Devil's Advocate, who doesn't really know what advocate means, the Retard, The Capt. Jim Darwin, oxymoron and lots of others that could not hold an intelligent conversation if their life depended on it.

Well, it's a public forum. The defacing isn't permanent and it really is harmless. The question really is whether the abusers are juvenile in age or just maturity.

As for spray painting, it costs lost of taxpayer money to clean.

I think the worse thing is people who are abusive with the use of foul language just to attack somebody for no reason. Ive seen alot of that happening on here. I know it can be annoying sometimes if people are fooling around and you want serious conversation but it sort of lightens things up sometimes providing its harmless fun.

Also it can be people of any age. Its how that individual persons maturity is towards things.

It's far less harmful to read the retarded drivel than it is to read the hate filled messages. And as this is a free country we live in, and as the First Ammendment guarantees us all the right to free speech, I'd say just ignore it if you don't care to read it.

Wow JT that question hits home with me. I just posted the question, who is the true prophet of God? The trix Rabbit was one of my replies. I hope I'm not getting classified with the What Should I do Retard. I just wanted to point out the absurdity of organized religion.

It's the First Amendment pal.
Get over it.
He has just the same right to type in anything he wants, just like you discredit (try, sorry) the Bible with a one verse interpretation.
I'm with Spooky.
