I had a misunderstanding with the guy I've been dating for a month. It's a medium-sized misunderstanding but I know it raised a red-flag for him. I asked him if he still wanted to date, his reply was "Well, this has me concerned..." and then left it with "I'll call you later." I know that when a man says "I'll call you later" it doesn't mean I'll call you later today. It means, "I'll call you when I've cooled off in a week or so." How long should I give it before I write him off? I cannot contact him because it was a misunderstanding about nagging ---he gave me his work number and said to call anytime. I called a few times and he got bothered. Today, when I asked if he was in a meeting all day, rather than just checking his schedule, his receptionist hunted him down. So, he thought that I asked her to do that. I really want to salvage this one... (he's 34)

I think when he's ready then he'll call you or get a hold to you when he's calmed down. Just give it some time and things we'll be fine. If he never calls again then sorry you'll have to move on.

Whoa--just because a guy gives you his work number doesn't give you the right to call him several times a day or a couple of times during the week. In this case, if you don't hear from him in 3 days, you won't be hearing from him again. Please don't go chasing after him either...

Sorry but it sounds like you blew it. Leave him alone. You're not making things any better. If he wants to continue the relationship he will call you. Don't sit by the phone waiting though...

"rearranging her frames as her mind" ^favorite line The whole last stanza pretty much rocks. Good poem. Voyeuristic and a little uncomfortable, as it should be to watch such a naive thing in her night gown, "unperturbed by his defection."
