I know of a weight machine that, as one person put it, defies logic. It's a machine that you get onto a step and it goes down a little bit, and you actually pull yourself up by two bars. If you add weight to it, like 20 lbs, you actually lift your body weight minus 20 lbs. Anyone know what machine this is, and, where can you buy one? I'll add more details if not specific enough.

I know what you're talking about. I used to train people on it in another gym, geez I don't remember the name of the darn thing! It is used to do back work (pull ups) and also triceps work with the two bars to hold onto on the sides. I'll probably remember tomorrow when I'm in a meeting or something lol It's a great machine too!

I dont know what it is called, but they are common in gyms and usually for pull down or pull up exercises, since many people have trouble lifting their own body weight with this muscle group.

It is called Dip/Chin or Chin Up/Dip Assist Machine. The Dip/Chin allows you to reduce your bodyweight by up to 170 pounds. Chin-ups work the back and biceps while dips work the chest shoulders and triceps.
