Bite him back.
No, I'm kidding! If the biting is playful, then stop playing, hold your dog so that you're looking into his eyes, and say "NO" very firmly. If it's a chewing issue, make sure that the dog has plenty of his own toys to chew on. Also, you may want to spray Bitter Apple onto the things that he's chewing on.
I would recommend a session with a dog trainer, though. It's definitely worth it!

The first thing not to do is hit him that will only promote fear biting. When he does bite let out a sharp loud yipe like another puppy would do and tell him firmly no. Also give him suitable toys to chew on. All puppies bite and chew. Have patience and be consistent things will get better.

when he bites you take two fingers and push his snout down tell him firmly NO do not let him look you in the face dogs do not like to disappoint and will try to see if they can dominate by looking in your eyes when a dog does wrong for any thing use the two finger method make sure they are looking down and be firm. even after you have done this do not look at him for several minutes him will stop this behavior very quickly again they do not like to disappoint dogs are pleasers they love to please. they are very loyal to you and want nothing more than to please you . also give him and old piece of leather for his need to chew good luck ... puppies are cute but just like babies they have to be taught also try putting a little vinger on the things you do not want him to chew it will not harm the object but it will deter the dog ... and for his little accidents on your rug and or floor after cleaning up the piddle spray that area with vinegar and water mix lifts the oder out for good and will keep him from going in that spot ever again little tip vinegar is the best thing for dog training

Show him whose boss, not cruelly though. It usually depends if his gnawing or biting. If he's gnawing/chewing on things and people he might just be teething. Biting though, tell him "no", but he's a puppy so teach him what "no" is and maybe show him that it isn't a good thing to do. It's probably just his attitude, but fix it as soon as you can, it's not going to be good if that habit attributes to him as an adult.

are you giving it enough chew toys? every time he bites you
give him tap not a slap on the nose and say no in a firm voice.
it's important to just tap him on the nose never hit your dog.
as for things try spraying pet reppelant on your stuff. also bring
him to an obediance class he may be trying to dominate you.

When he bites you hold his mouth down, but not that so he can't breathe and you tell him not bite. after you do that a couple times he should get the message, but if he doesn't get a winex bottle or sometnig put regular water in it, and whenever he does that spuirt him. He'll get the message.

Puppies are born to bite and will continue to do so until they get over teething.

If you do smack him on the nose, try smacking him/her under the chin, otherwise it may damage the sensory receptors in his/her nose.
