Sure, not all churches are that way, but all you have to do is tune in to one of your 500 local bible thumper stations or read the newspaper and check out stories like this random one http://www.dallas.org/node/228 to know most of them are not very Christian at all

Well since I have no pastor and I happen to enjoy it when my panties are wadded up.....what's your point? I have no anger or hatred toward any of the listed groups of people. I do , however, get a little upset when people over generalize about someone who is a Christian. I am a Christian and maybe I am a different breed of such, but I am usually very tolerant, I pray to God on my own dime and do not use any middlemen, and I do not profess to belong to any organized religious sect. That does not mean my faith is any less important to me but I simply feel like my personal journey with God is just that....personal. So next time you feel the need to bash-a-Christian, please consider there are those of us who are not able to be placed in the same box.

You may want to try just having a personal relationship with Christ and give up religion.

I discovered years ago that religion is an attempt to reach Christ via human behavior. And a relationship is Christ reaching out and touching us personally each day.
You have to decide if you want to be religious or spiritual.

Organized religion is a far cry from what Christ intended the church to be. The Bible was written for all to read and interpret as they are led spiritually.

The love of our heavenly Father is unconditional, but we often compare Him to our earthly fathers, who may have disciplined us easily, but found it hard to show love.

I was involved in organized religion for most of my life and came to the conclusion that most of the people were treating it like a country club.
Peace,

Our Pastor preaches the Word, and I don't leave angry. I am so blessed by the music, and the preaching, and the wonderful people there. We are not perfect in any way, but we do worship the way God wants us too.

Quite a few, I'd suspect.

It's one of the reasons I left the church. I saw through that crap. (Only "the occult" was real big in the early 90s, too, as was feminism.)
