I looked it up on an online english-vietnamese dictionary and this is what I got:

cat

danh từ

* con mèo
* (động vật học) thú thuộc giống mèo (sư tử, hổ, báo...)
* mụ đàn bà nanh ác; đứa bé hay cào cấu
* (hàng hải) đòn kéo neo ((cũng) cat head)
* roi chín dài (để tra tấn) ((cũng) cat o-nine-tails)

it's con mèo, but the "con" is the classifier word, so not always necessary. It depends on your sentence.
