Please if you may, state whether you are an Atheists or a theist (even your religion if you want)

And tell me whether you’re willing to accept the possibility (not the actuality) that a Creator of the Universe may or may not exist. And if possible also why.

I admit it. [Atheist, 24 - want my SSN too?]

When (and only when) the rapture happens - I will get down on my knees and beg forgiveness.

ONLY when.

I'm an atheist.

If by a creator you mean of the thesistic kind, then I would be no more willing to accept the possibility of being 'wrong' than I would if asked to accept the possibility of the existence of a flying house brick that likes to listen to jazz and plays tennis on the weekends. Not knowing everything is not an excuse to allow for the completely irrational and absurd, and to go against everything we do know.

However, this does not mean being completely close-minded, as many would believe - any evidence in support of such a notion, able to satisfy some basic scientific criteria, should/would be treated appropriately.

But then belief or faith would no longer be an issue and there would be no debate to be had.

I am not only willing to admit that it is a possibility I could be wrong... I am also not willing to change my mind as a result.

That is called faith. I believe in creationisim, God and jesus Christ. and I love and respect the Jewish people and loathe most Christians, religious zealots and brow beaters of any kind. I also however believe that evolution and science were the means by which God created... and taught man His secrets. SO I believe in everything I suppose.Theist and atheist.

I remember a time when most athiests were the rational of the two... now from being on here I see that they are no smarter, no more intelligent and no better than the religious.

Yes, it is possible that some being in space is powerful enough to create a world or a universe. In fact we may create a universe one day in a lab by making a white hole. Then what will we be?

But the god of the bible does not exist.

sure, i will admit that. I freely admit that an theory or idea it somewhat is completely grounded in human beings's imaginations and for which there is no actual info ought to exist. How a lot credibility do you supply to the conception of a Jabberwocky? The Jabberwocky has only as a lot credibility as a 'ought to exist' element as any deity that has ever existed. Agnostic is basically a impartial position. Thats nice in case you've not somewhat idea about the challenge a lot. i'm surely agnostic about large swathes of economics idea because i do not understand a lot about the challenge. As such i do not take a position or recommend one college or type of economics over yet another. I have idea about and researched faith and requested inquiries to muslims, Christians and Jews and in accordance to that I finish there is an overpowering chance they are incorrect about god. yet i'd nicely be incorrect, it somewhat is why the overpowering type of 'atheists' are also agnostic, or agnostic atheists. There are only some absolute atheists. I do position self belief in issues that make experience to me. in spite of the indisputable fact that, those are in basic terms ideas and ethics and are practically unrelated to the actual universe. this isn't similar with the conception in a god, which poses a declare about reality which may be truthfully brushed off as very not likely to be genuine. The issues i position self belief in are only similar with philosophy, ethics and codes of habit that are non secular in nature, they are not similar with non secular claims about the supernatural. No, the load of evidence being on the non secular isn't a cop out through atheists. i ought to posit that the Jabberwocky exists yet i'd not anticipate aJabberwockists (anybody else) to trust me till I had a specimen to reveal them. Ajabberwockyists do not ought to disprove my declare, they do no longer ought to trust it or take an agnostic stance and that i'd not throw my toys out of the pram, stamp my ft and get in contact with them closed minded or biased for with regards to me as delusional.

I don't think it is possible that a creator of the universe exists. There is simply no evidence, compelling or otherwise, that such a creator exists. However, there is nothing sacred about what I think... and if compelling evidence for the existence of such a creator were to suddenly materialize, I would certainly evaluate it, and if the weight of evidence in favor of the existence of such a diety were to outweigh the universe full of evidence against it, intellectual honesty would compel me to reconsider what I think.

Fat chance, though.

I'm a theist and the universe was created and so was man.

Also, there is no rapture, that word ain't in the bible. A phrase coined by a 15 year old girl.

I am Pagan and a realist. To me it is beyond the realm of reality that a being called God such as described in the fictional bible could exist. In my world spiritual or not, the chance to accept fantasy as reality is an impossibility.

I will admit I might be wrong . You might say that makes me agnostic instead of atheist , but as of right now I believe there is no god . So I remain an atheist .

Atheist here.
Sure, I might be wrong. But I'm certainly not going to change my beliefs on the (IMO) miniscule chance that I might be wrong. If somday, someone shows me something remotely resembling ACTUAL proof, then maybe I'll reconsider. I'm not holding my breath =)
