""Psychologists have demonstrated time and time again that one's beliefs show very little correlation with one's actions."

So you are arguing that all the atheists are going to church and praising God while all the theists are staying home Sunday watching the big game on TV? Fascinating."

If that were the case, it would be a VERY strong NEGATIVE correlation... .not a lack of a correlation.

I wish people would get an education before they try to take me on.
*sigh*

nirvash, that's not a belief or more specifically "attitude" as defined in psychological terms. That is an intention. The difference is in its speficity and the fact that intentions are temporal and attitudes & beliefs are not.

Jenny appears to understand a correlation, as she knows that Will described a NEGATIVE one, not a LACK of one.

Will on the other hand is so ignorant that he won't even admit that he completely screwed the pooch on this. He equated a -1.0 correlation with a 0.0 correlation, revealing that he doesn't know wtf he is talking about. yet again

actually, your example would of atheist going to church would be a negative correlation. it's the fact that people, regardless of what they believe, often act outside of their beliefs. The argument is that just because you go to church or believe in god, it does not make you a good person. you should strive to be a better person, but it doesn't always work that way.

Don't you realize psychology and sociology classes are dangerous to the bible? They can't have that now can they.

However, myself, I loved those classes... they open a lot of eyes.

Hey, *I* didn't say anything that was uneducated. Don't blame me for your screw ups.

EDIT: Nope! At no time did *I* equate a negative correlation with no correlation. Here's a hint: double check the punctuation.
