Medium rollers wound toward the back of your head.
Get some setting lotion from your nearest hairdressing supplies.
Don't brush after curl is set, just finger comb into place.

I would say blow dry your hair straight, them put some volumizing product in it. Then take a large-barrel curling iron and wrap random pieces. Hold for just a few second so the curl is very loose. Use the pic as a guide to where to put the iron. Fingercomb your hair afterwards, then put in some hair spray and voila.
p.s. That particular hairstyle is a little dated. You can use the same method to get this hairstyle: http://www.gothamist.com/images/2005_01_ggscarlett.jpg
It's the same idea, but updated and super cute.

If your hair is not layered you might want to get it layered.
Hot Rollers
1. Buy a set of medium size hot rollers about a inch and a half.
Wallgreens;CVS;Wallmart;Target.
2.After heated put at the end of your hair and roll up tight to your scalp and pin.
3. Leave in for about 30-45 min.
4. Apply hair spray to your hair to make sure it stays in place.
Curling Iron
1. Get a Barrel Currling iron about two inches.
2. Start at the end of a fourth inch section of hair and roll up. Hold for about 30 seconds.
3. Applt hair spray to you hair to keep in place.
Don't brush your hair after you curl it with either one. And hope you take my advice. ; )

Really depends on the type of hair you have. But I would probably roll your hair on super big rollers and take big sections. Spray with hairspray first. Roll your hair up on BIG hot rollers, leave it up for 15 minutes, take them down, tip your head over, and "finger comb" the curls out, flip your head back over, and hairspray again.

Hot rollers. Get the medium ones for bigger, bouncy curls.
