I agree with you. Many people do keep pigeons as pets, they're beautiful animals. Check out these details, particularly how pigeons have been used by humans in times of war - many carrier pigeons have received medals of honour, did you know? It's a bit hypocritical to give pigeons war medals when they're 'useful' to humans, and then call them 'pests' in another time and place!

It's not a problem in some towns to feed them, but when there are lot's of pigeons they leave lot's of pigeon poop and that draws up lot's of unhealthy issues.

Yeah, they poop a lot. And If you feed them they keep coming back. I saw a good example of that at the Victoria Coach Station in London, there were like a dozen of them flying around in the building trying to scrounge food from people waiting for their coaches. I don't hate pigeons but they are eating and pooping machines.

False. My local park doesn't have pigeons but they allow people to feed the ducks.

Pigeons are dirty and many people see them as nothing more than flying rats. I, personally, think they are kind of cute, but I see the point in not feeding them in parks. Because if there were lots of pigeons in parks, we'd have some very "crappy" parks. :)

It probably has something to do with them crapping all over people, the park benches, and the park walkways.
You could certainly raise pigeons at home and then you can clean up you own area instead of failing to clean up after them here in the park.

I personally don't have any thing against pigeons, but they poop everywhere . Bird poo is not the best landscaping so if you don't feed the pigeons, they probably wont stay for long.

The more you feed them the more you attract, the more you attract the more poop, cleaning up after pigeons is actually quite expensive, so cities don't want to pay for it and discourage feeding them.

a) believe it or not, its true. i HATE pigeons but i got nothing against them. the only reason i hate them is 'cuz they fly at my face and its scary.
b) 'cuz they dont want the park to be messy and dirty.
