my fiance says he will let her see the baby no matter what. I on the other hand am trying to turn her into the sheriff.

I wouldn't allow her to see my newborn baby either. After that I would talk to her about her lies and tell her that I don't appreciate it. Have your fiance talk to his mother and if she doesn't cease her harassing and lies, don't invite her to your house in anything special until she takes a hint and promises to lay off.

i can understand where you're coming from, but that child can get so much love from her grandmother.
ok, ya she stirs up commotion between you and lies, but just stand your ground and be the adult. ignore it, or say something to her. i wouldn't cause an argument, just sit down and talk with her.
now there is going to be a child involved, which is not good. why would you want that tension there?
i bet that your fiance would be more at ease when this is solved by the love of his life, his unborn child's mother and his OWN mother.

I hate to break it to you, but unless you have good reason, like physical, or something like that, I don't think you will be able to get a restraining order. But... the joy of being a mother, which I am, is that your baby is yours. Who sees him/her is up to you, if you aren't comfortable with your mother-in-law seeing your child, then you don't have to let her, and then, if she persists and begins to almost harass.. then you can get a restraining order! And how does your fiance feel about all of this?

you do not need a restraining order-as the mother of the child you can refuse to let her see your baby. personally i would simply refuse to talk to her-that way she has no ammunition to use against you in the future. but this may cause friction between you and your man stand your ground and tell him you are not putting up with it and if he doesn't tell her to sort herself out-you will.......the most important person in this baby's life is its mother-not its grandmother. if the woman is not prepared to be reasonable then he/she can live without her. has it occured to other correspondents the the mother may have tried to be nice in the past-and it has got her nowhere??. my attitude would be "if you treat me like this now-then sooner or later you will treat my child like it as well. i am not going to allow that to happen". she must change her ways.

Sounds like she is jealous of your relationship with her son. You cant get a restraining order just because she is ignorant and stirs up trouble. I would just avoid her and keep my child away from her.

My young friend, you cannot restrain her from seeing her grandson even if you have a problems with her.

I Suggest that you sit down with her and try to talk thing over, but remember BE PATIENT AND NICE after all she is your fiance's mother. If it does not work you gotta cut relations with her any way you can.

Document the times of harassment through the police or court system. Your word alone will not convince a judge.

This is straight from the trailor - as Kid Rock would put it. Get over yourself and don't get knocked up by someone from that kind of family in the first place.

I suggest time travelling abilities, not a restraining order.

Oh girl... you have tied the rope around your neck and if you keep that baby, you better suck it up. You have to get along, or live in hell forever, dragging an innocent child along

You'd have to prove that she was a danger to your child. That's a very harsh thing to do to a grandparent. Maybe you should try to mend fences with her. She will be a part of your family and you will see her every holiday.
