All I want is a number, like number of beliefs , and where did you get your information ? As for anyone who says " THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD!!!" Whine all you want I have no use for your opinion .

Look at the PATHETIC answers listed here... "There is only one God, it's the TRUTH!" You don't know it's the truth by faith; you only KNOW when you have KNOWLEDGE.
As far as how many gods there are, I don't know. As an Odalist, I believe that certain gods influence certain people, depending on ancestry and culture. It's hard to know exactly who will actually influence you or not; some wait a long time before appearing to you.
I believe the number of recorded gods around the world is 1500. They might all be real to some extent or another.
And remember, Yahweh/Jehovah is actually the Hebrew War God; Jews were polytheists until about 500 BCE.

Before you ask..how many Gods..ask...what is God?
When you say God..what do you mean..?
OK most cultures were able to a find a God and all of them meant that the God is the one who created us and created the universe..
old cultures were able to recognize many Gods..
God of love..
God of wind ...etc..
others say ( 3 ,,the holy trinity )
others also say ( one )...
look just imagine 2 cockers cocking a small dinners..(3 chefs)..we all knew the proverb...you will never have dinner if you have more than one chef...
in cinema...the movie...imagine the movie with 5 directors...man..
we will see a one movie with 5 different way of shooting...you will feel lost..
in politic...there is only one president...imagine 2 George w push...
one say yes for war on Iraq...
other say no...which country we Willl have...we wil have a chaos..
now let's see the universe..
look at its beauty and how much is organized...
look to ur body...
and tell me...
how many gods created us...

There are a lot, and more coming all the time. Scientology is one of the recent ones.
And for those who are saying "There is only one," that's wrong. The Bible mentions several others, and distinguishes the God of Abraham from them by calling Him "The One True God." The others existed, but weren't the True God.

Gods of Egypt
Gods of Greece
Gods of Israel
Gods of Rome
Gods of the near East
But speaking of religion, supposed to be only one god but in many other countries the people believe in different gods such as buddah e.t.c.

I really don't think anyone has been able to accurately count how many deities have been worshiped past and present because information about many of the pre-historic deities has been lost due to the oral nature of those societies.

There are probably an endless number of gods but only ONE TRUE GOD. Even God said "Their gods are many." But none compare to Him. Sorry if it's not the exact answer you were looking for but at least it's honest!!
