Until you buy the stuff that kills them and wash your hair with it. Then, use a small comb to remove all the dead nits.

This has been a every year thing with us since my son has started school. He is in 3rd grade now. Because of parents not getting rid of lice the proper way it speads througout the whole school. Big lice infestation! These nasty bugs get into your carpet, mattresses and anything you wear and just hang up. Then they will trasfer to what ever that touches! Nice hugh? So go out and buy carpet spray for lice but make sure you vaccum first! Then pull everything off your bed and wash it. Make sure you put your pillows in the dryer for 30 minutes so that the heat kill will the nits and audult lice. You dont have to wash your pillows. You can if you want to. I have feather pillows. You can spray the pillows and the mattress good before you put your clean bedding back on. Spray your furniture also, even in your car where you rest your head. The better job you do to wipe these suckers out the faster you will be rid of them! Just to save you a trip back to the store buy 2 cans of the lice carpet/furniture spray. What ever product you choose to buy for your hair, just follow the instuctions and just a helpful tip! After you rinse the lice shampoo out of your hair dry your hair off and put some conditioner in your hair to help with the removal of the nits that still may be attached to your hair. This makes useing those little combs easier. You dont rip so much hair out! Clean all your brushes/combs so you dont get lice again. Better yet throw them away! Buy a new one and everytime you brush your hair take the hair thats left in the brush out and throw it away! Hair products help, like gel, mouse and hairspray! They cant attach themselves as well and plus lice like clean hair. Thats everything I know to help ya out! Have fun!

Lice and nits will stay in your hair permanantly if you do not treat them. If you treat them with nix or another store bought remedy you still need to remove the nits with the tiny tooth comb. Home remedies are the same ...you have to manually remove the nits from your hair immediatly after treatment.

They live there. Breed there. You must get rid of them with special lice shampoo. And wash ALL your clothes, and bedclothes, etc.
