I'm thinking of visiting and maybe moving to Seattle. Tell me what you know about it, like about it or don't like about it. Does it really rain all the time? How cold does it get in winter? Does it snow? What is there to do? What is the local food scene like? What about arts? Are there a lot of outdoor activities? Anything else you can tell me would be great.

I'm from Canada and I love it there! I visit about twice a year. And it seems to me to be community oriented, lots to do and summer festivals. It's green and beautiful like the rest of the Pacific Northwest. I like it around Science Center and EMP.

I find weather isn't too bad. I have been in places that rained more. Either that or I have been pretty lucky. I recall one summer trip that rained half an hour. And winters are mild. Yes, you can have a cold snap, or a snow storm. But it doesn't stay months on end.

Seattle's awesome. Great art scene, nightlife, people. It doesn't really rain all the time, though it tends to be cloudy from mid-october til april. The summers are amazing though, typically 80's. You have the coast and the cascade mountains both within an hour of you for outdoor activities. Every band on a national tour swings through seattle. I could go on and on.

Negatives: traffic, highest cost of living within a 1000 miles i'd say.

Seattle is a neat city. A lot to see and do. It is overcast a lot and everyone appreciates the "sun breaks". Not everyone likes that type of weather. Visit first.
