I work in a vets office and work with pet insurance. It's a great idea and can cover just about anything. It's best if you get it while you animal is younger, it's cheeper that way.

We work with Veterinary Pet Insurance 1-800-872-7387 or www.petinsurance.com

I have an insurance plan for both of my dogs, through Banfield Pet Hospital. They're the Veterinary offices inside of PetSmarts all over. I paid a one time membership fee of around $100 for each dog, then I pay $16 per dog every month. But it covers all vaccinations, routine deworming, office visit fees, and gives a small discount on medication if either dog needs some. It has saved me about $500 in one year. And I can take my dogs in to see the vet anytime I want. No appointment needed, and it's free, I could bring them in every day if I wanted... wouldn't cost me a penny, except for $16 dollars a month. Hope this helps

I had pet insurance on my mixed breed. It was wonderful. I paid a total of about $300 dollars in 12 years. That included getting him neutered, treating him for poison (thanks to my neighbor), a car accident (x-rays are expensive), and hip dysplasia, and of course the routine check-ups and shots. It was so great. I suggest it to everyone.
