It's not sensational enough to make news. A better question is why do we expect dogs to behave so much better than humans do?

Unfortunalty we will probably never see nation wide coverage about dog abuse and killings like you will with the dog bitings. People just don't care about the animals as much as they do people.

The sad fact is that there is a veritable river of abused dogs going into humane shelters all over the country every day- and those are the lucky ones. The unlucky are dead or starving or beaten in backyards across the country.

There are hundreds of cases where teenagers are caught for animal cruelty but usually it is just a misdemeanor and is not punished severely enough.

There is animal abuse, so pretty much there are a lot of wild kids attacking rottweilers, and you don't see that in headlines. I understand your sarcasm though, but sometimes there is something going on out there, that happens every day. A dog attacks a human, and it makes headlines because it affects humans. We don't have dog news, that comes on everyday like regular news, maybe on Animal Planet or something, but some people don't really care.

You hear about things like this all the time, what doesnt make sense to me is that if an animal attacks a human, they get put down and if a person abuses an animal, they get little more than a slap on the wrist.
Considering we are meant to be the more intelligent species of the two, I think it would make sense to put the people to sleep too. It would be a good deterrent!

You sound like some sick-sad person, pity it was not you the dogs had a go at. I feel sorry for the child and the parents, who are part to blame, also the poor dogs, the child should never have been left near the animals, PS I have a rotty and he hates cats, but never gets one. Shifter

You read about cruelty to animals in the paper all the time. Especially from teenagers and dogs are no exception.

i agree, the autherties are quick enough to hunt for the dog as soon as its done something wrong, so why are they not just as quick to find the culprits that subject these poor animals to such cruel behaviour x
