Lots of love, and LOTS of patience ^_~

how old are they? if they are younger, you know what they say "If you can't beat 'em , join 'em" when they are running all over the house playing around and messing things up, and you feel you are about to break down, take a deep breath, throw your hands in the air, and go have fun with them, (no i don't mean wreck the house lol....) but tell them you'll all go to the park, (that can wear 'em down a bit....) or gather them all around for a movie, or find something that you can just join in and play with them.....

make sure you have by yourself time too ^_^ if they are older, give them some money and drop them off at the movie theatre with their friends, or have the other parenet take them out to the park or the zoo or something ^_^

patience is the key, the more worked up you get, the harder it is to handle, sometimes if you just pause and take a deep breath, and realize how much you love them, things start seeming a little easier ^_~

I have six. Ranging from 8 to 25. I feel your pain. :) Fortunately, only three of them live at home now, but those three ALL have ADHD (their ages are 8, 11, 13). So. :)

Things that I do to stay sane:

- Crochet.

- Read in my room with the door closed and a strict command of "If you bother me for anything less than bleeding or death, I will feed your head to the dog!"

- Take a hot shower, or, if time permits, a bubble bath.

- Sit the kids down with playdough and pipe cleaners, have them compete to make the weirdest aliens or bugs they can, as quietly as they can. They have to take at least thirty minutes to do it, and whoever is quietest wins a prize (cookies or M&Ms), and the freakiest creation also wins a prize, and the child who tried the hardest to keep his brothers from making too much noise wins a prize too.

- Bake cookies with the kids. Believe it or not, it's fun.

- Get out of the house. When Daddy gets home, tell him it's his turn, jump in the car, and even if it's just a trip to Burger King for a Coke, go there, take a book or a magazine, and wallow in the blessed kidlessness. Window shopping is nice for this, too.

Hope these ideas help you some. If the stress is REALLY getting to you, consider talking to your doctor. I DO take Prozac, and it does help. But medication is not the answer for every little life's headache. I take it for depression, not because the kids make me nuts. But there are very mild tranquilizers available that can make a difference when a day is getting really really stressful.
