Try going to the topical guide and picking a topic and read about that. Or you can go by story, Mormon, Nephi, Moroni etc.

WE DO BELIEVE IN CHRIST
We do NOT practice polygamy. If church leaders find out you do you are excommunicated, no longer considered a member.
We DO believe and read the Bible.
Homie_the_Clown --- we believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ with the bible.

Hello Sister Latter Day Saint!
You are young yet, and what a challenge you have taken on. Congratulations to you. When you enter high school, you will probably be going to seminary in the morning before classes. Each year you will do a different Testament, the new testament, the old testament, the d&c, the book of Mormon. So, an incentive for you is that you will have much to share once you begin studying the Book of Mormon. Also, share this with your family... maybe you can ask if you can all read a few chapters during Family Home Evening together... and then after a while... you will have finished the entire book, and the bonus is that you've done it all together as a family. :o)

Well, when I read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time, it was a challenge for the entire Young Women's class (Beehives), and if we finished it, our teacher gave us a pillow she had sewn herself with counted cross stitch. I read it again at age 15 using a set of commentaries by W. Cleon Skousen called "Treasures from the Book of Mormon," where you read and fill in the blanks as you go, plus you get all kinds of interesting comments on how Jewish culture and traditions and archaeology support the Book of Mormon together with the Bible. When you get old enough to take Seminary I hope you get a fun teacher like the ones I had, who made learning more interesting. Have you seen the animated scripture videos? I also used to know a company who helped create a software program sold by Deseret Book to help students learn the mastery scriptures more easily, using funny pictures. I bet deseretbook.com or Seagull Book and Tape have some ideas for you.
Oh, yeah, and sometimes I forget to pray in the morning, but there is another website I like called beliefnet.com which has a variety of prayers from around the world. It also has a lot of jokes from a variety of religions, because after all, we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously.

It's alright if you miss a couple of days, we've all done it!! When you get into seminary, the Book of Mormon will become even more exciting, because you learn every little part of it!! But you are on the right track with praying night and day and asked him to help you. Don't worry your answer will come!!!
P.S. Your doing a lot better than me on reading and praying so 2 thumbs up for you!!

How wonderful! Sometimes it is hard to get motivated or excited to read...I find the more I read, the more I want to. When you do pray, ask your Heavenly Father to help you understand it better and to have the desire to read it. I have to ask for that sometimes. Try to make it a habit that as soon as you get out of bed in the morning and when you go to bed at night you kneel at the side of your bed and pray. Once you have been doing it for a while, it will become automatic. Also, you know you can always ask for help for anything and the Lord will help you - as long as it is good of course!

I'm not a mormon, but I would like to ask you something. If you worship God, what is the book of Mormon and how is it related to him? And do you read the Bible too? I probably shouldn't have clicked this or answered you with a question, but I'm just wondering.

I know i am not Mormon and i feel really bad for all the other answers, but maybe you should just relax. Don't force yourself to feel excited. By feeling bad because you are not excited you are just getting yourself down and making it harder the next time. Maybe read some other Mormon literature. Follow your heart.

Have some sort of incentive, so that you feel you need to read the book of mormon. as for praying try a prayer rock once you hit your head a few times and stub your toe, you tend to remember things more easily

Try reading just a little bit everyday. Even if you only read for 10 or 15 minutes, eventually you will make it through.

I apoligize for jumping in and answering this question. I'm not a Mormon. I would like to invite you to read the Bible. It is exciting to know that Jesus Christ , God's only begotten Son, came to this earth as a sacrifice for you so that you can live with God forever.
We are all born with a nature that is sinful. Jesus had no sin and that is why He and only He qualifies as our sacrifice. Jesus came here, lived, died on the cross, and now lives again. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The way to God is Jesus. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. repent of (turn away from) any sin in you life and He will save you. Not any religion, not how good you are. Not any other way but Jesus.
