I'm thinking to baptize to be a Christian. I haven't is because I always remember what my friend said "If you regrad about baptied it's a big sin in bible..." I want to make sure I won't regrad one day. I've been praying for long time. I believe there is God but I'm not too religious (like believe Adam and Eve create human....or God creat this universe....can't really convince me. I think more scientific way...) One thing is my husband baptized when he was 7, and now he's in his thirties but he doesn't really believe. There is one way to lose him if I'm turing too religious. He always say don't try to change him. I don't want to change anyone's religion! I just want to know what is the best reason or situation to go bapitize. I'm very causious with that is b/c I think religion can be bigger than marriage or any other relationship. My original family are Buddism. I want to make sure it won't cause me any confusion or bother after baptized....I just think a lot...

What make me hesitate is I've seen other religion can also make people stay peace.
Is there nesarry to baptize. Will God know my praying without baptize? Or Baptize mean I can go to heaven and see him after I die?

Catholics believe baptism is necessary for salvation, so that is a very good reason to be baptized. I don't know what you mean by "regrad".

So they may truly be saved, by following the instructions in the Bible. But you need to study out what becoming a Disciple is all about first, so you know what you are getting yourself into.

It basically breaks down like this:
1) Your hear the Word;
2) You believe the Word
3) You act upon the Word (i.e., repent from your sins--confess & forsake them)
4) You profess publically that Jesus is your Lord & Savior;
5) THEN you get baptized in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Note, that at no time do you need to: "pray Jesus into your heart"--that is nowhere in the Bible, but just a man-made way of lowering the bar, so people can believe lots of Christians are being made, when in reality, it is too shallow of a "conversion" to be acknowledged by God.

Christianity is NOT a religion for people who think a lot...just the opposite. Christianity is for people who just want to think that they have all the answers yet are too lazy to take the time to think things through with logic and simple common sense kind of thoughts.

Christians do not want to be bothered with questions like this one, of which there are thousands to be asked concerning the bible : If the purpose of the flood was to destroy all the sinners and cleanse the Earth of evil people....why did God let the world fill right back up with sinners and evil people after the flood?

Wouldn't that be considered a failure? And what about all the babies that were certainly floating face down dead in the water...were they evil sinners too?

And it goes on and on and on....Look into Agnosticism, it works very well for those of us who think too much yet still want to at least have simple hope that there is an afterlife to look forward to...in whatever form you might wish it to be. :-)

Greetings,
The reason that you should be baptized is that Jesus told us that we must be baptized by water and the Holy Spirit to to be saved. To be saved means that you renounce all worldly temptations and obey God's commandments and laws. It also means that you have been reborn as a new person(spiritually) and commit yourself to Jesus and God. Should you find that you have sinned after being baptized then you are to pray to God for forgiveness of your sin and repent your sin. A word ; no one will ever be able to live without committing sin as we are here on this earth in the flesh. There has only been one person in history that has never had sin and that was Jesus. So don't be upset at yourself should you happen to sin but try to live for God as He has directed us through His word. This does not give you a license to sin but lets us understand that we will never be perfect.

It is a good thing that you think alot about these matters. Obviously, Jesus has captured your heart.

I say, *pray* TO Jesus, and speak with Him *all* of your concerns!! Talk to Him as if you were speaking to a friend. As if your friend were standing right next to you!

Speak. Tell. Wave your arms about. Cry, if need be. He's been *SO* waiting to HEAR from you!!

If you can, get baptized by way of submergence. *I* did this against *my* family's wishes, and, while I was under, the *Whole world* lifted from my shoulders, and as I came up, I literally heard Angels singing!!

Jesus isn't a 'religion', He's a Relationship! Just *when* are people going to get that straight?

well, first, you said you think more scientifically. Who created the world? if not God? I'm not gullable. I didn't believe in God until He showed himself to me. I believed "scientifically" in the Big Bang. But, after I had an encounter with God I was transformed and I dragged my family to church and now my moms dragging me to Christian conferences. I like it though. All the miracles of healings and spiritual warfare is awesome. A lot of action. Someone even got a gold tooth in place of where their tooth was missing! Very cool. I don't know how to tell you because my friend told me and I didn't believe it and neither did my family so I highly doubt you'll believe. Don't go to a church that is really boring and only has preaching. Go to a ministry that has action! One with the fire of God! I don't like going to ones that has a message and then its time to go home. Preaching is nice, only when its important like things that you really really need to know to get into higher spiritual levels. Not ones that say "be nice 2 ur neighbor." Those are boring and a waste of time.

What is important is being born again,getting saved, accepting Jesus as your lord and savior. Being baptized will only allow you to join a church. The reason your husband is saying that is because he is not saved. Read the book of Romans in the new testament and the 4 gospels. Please take this very serious. This is your eternal soul we are talking about.

to be a Christian you must pray and believe that you were a sinner but Christ's death on the cross gave us forgivnessfor our sin. Jesus told us to be Baptizied and this is a public proffesion of our Faith in Him. It sounds like you have many more questions.To me becoming a Christian is a life changing event.it is more than a religion, it is faith in the blood of our savoir and Lord.Jesus christ.

The best reason for a "Christian" to be baptized is the possibility that one of them may drown & the world will be a better place because of it.

Organized religion sucks.

Educated spirituality RULES.

Jesus saught out his cousin, John, to be baptized in the River Jordon. This was a very specific example that we are to follow because it testifies of our faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is thus a testimony and act of obedience.

Baptism is a symbolic dying of the physical body to be reborn in the spirit of Jesus. It is an important and exciting part of the gospel and should not be taken lightly, however if you are sure of your desire to be a Christian and you understand the symbolism then I applaud you and wish you well. As for your husband, let Him find his own way. He will either come back to the faith if he sees you excited about it or he will not. You cannot influence it either way.
