Please do talk to your doctor so he/she can refer you if need be. But, you do need to discuss this as it could be a sign of schizophrenia. It is not something to be ashamed of, you are not crazy! I am sure you must be very scared! I know a lot of people who are going through this. You need counseling and help. If it is schizophrenia, know there are very good meds out there to help you. That combined with counseling should help. Look, my boyfriend has schizophrenia and he is coping fine. OK, I STRESS..I am NOT saying that that is what you have, I am not here to scare you, but if you are afraid, then talk to someone you trust and get counseling from there! Good luck and take care!

Psychosis is a symptom of Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder. If you had it, you would know by now I'm sure. Have you seen a doctor about it? Many of the people you see on the streets are schizophrenic people who never got treatment. Take care of it now. If it's not, take care of whatever it is that's making you feel like you are crazy.
I have heard voices before. It scared me to death. I had a head injury a few years ago and take medicine for seizures now. I had a problem with hallucinations like seeing things and delusions (false beliefs) but when I heard voices, that was it - probably the most scared I've ever felt. One of the darkest, most confusing times with depression, and then I heard voices. I thought I was going to lay a brick. Don't remember what they said.
I'm thankful for my meds. The world is in control again.

Hannah you need to go see a Psychiatrist for an evaluation. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are schizophrenic. I am bipolar type a & b with psychosis. What that means is that I hear voices and see things also. I am on medication for it and it works great. It is called Seroquel and I would ask your doctor about it because it stops all that bad stuff you are feeling. Hope it helps for you. God Bless and angels be with you.

Get a correct diagnosis from a reputable psychiatrist. You might need a referral from your primary physician, depending on your insurance. Be honest with them about everything (like if you've used drugs, which could cause symptoms). If you don't treat the symptoms early enough and stick with the doctor's recommendations, you might risk having to "stay with people with both disorders" again. Try prevention first! Good luck.

Schizophrenia *is* a psychosis.
I'd get an appointment with your doctor. He can refer you to a psychiatrist.

That is scary. If you confide your symptoms with a doctor, you will be diagnosed with mental illness and you will be discouraged from trying to have a normal life. Be careful.
