So I'm going on a date this Saturday with this really nice guy. We talk some, and so far things have gone good, but I'm worried about the conversation. I'd like things to go smoothly, but I'm not sure what to say. Any topic ideas?

Try this:
You want to get him to do the talking?
Get some coffee to keep you alert then ask about:
1. What sports he likes & why
2. Who his fav Athlete is & why
3. Sports/games he plays
4. His passion if he's not doing it now e.g lawyer who real wants to be a pilot.
5. Movies (tell him you never get CSI!)
6. His mom or sister or whoever else he is close to.
You want to do the talking?:
Talk about:
1. Your annoying co-workers/boss
2. How your mechanic is always cheating you.
3. Places you've been
4. Interesting pple you've met
5. A car you like (be honest type doesn't matter)
6. How men listen but never really Hear you.
For shared conversations
1. Places you like to visit
2. Canada (hate or like)
3. Movies
4. Experiences with DIY
5. Weird pple/situations
6. Turn ons/offs.
Smile a lot, relax, be your self, have fun.

Well, I spotted the problem right there in the first sentence. Speaking with intelligence, not to say you need to be stupid, but I assume you are logical in your conversation. Tell jokes, tell stories, learn about each other. Conversations must be fluid in form, if you and the girl have rapport, great! If not, create it by having lots of interesting input but also listening. My personal few is 30/70 with women, women LOVE to talk, so take the time to listen but also make sure to respond.

just be yourself, but don't talk so much about yourself, make sure you give him time to talk about himself. Try movies and music mostly its international topic for dating. What kind of food, show likes to watch, sports. Make it fun. Ask about what he likes in a woman or hate. Its better you ask the question and play it with humour. Goodluck girl!

no special topics,just let him speak first and if he ask you a question and answer it ,then it all will fall into place on it's own.one subject will follow after another. or you could say how was day at work/school today? which ever one it is.he will probablly say fine and how was your day? then the dots will connect themselves.your in.don't be nervous it will be fine.trust me you won't lack subject conversion.have fun pete

ask him about his family. you can kinda tell what kind of relationship you will have with him by the types of relationships he has with his family members. pay close attention to his relationship with his mom. they say a man will treat his girlfriend the way he treats his mother.
if he loves and repects her...you're good to go but if he starts talking about how much he hates his mom....run, run as fast as you can. he'll probably end up treating you badly.

People naturally like to talk about themselves. Ask him questions about his likes and dislikes and just go with the flow.
