I don't know where you live, but I used to work in the insurance industry in Britain and your insurance would be way too high! What do you want a flashy car for anyway? If it's to impress a girl then why bother surely you want her to notice YOU not a car! If it's to impress your mates..then wait 'til you can afford one! Either way you're better off driving what you are driving now and putting your money in the bank so you can afford a 'flashy' car sooner. What's the point of wasting your money for 1 day or maybe even a week if you don't own it and you go back to being Mr Nobody who drives a normal car and because of the wasted money will never be able to buy a better one?

Your age is against you and because you've just passed you test you will have a problem hiring one, yes your insurance will probably be over £1000.00. I own a Vectra and pay £700.00 and I'm 30 and been past my test 4 over 9 years, so the newer the car and bigger the engine and the area you live will all affect the amount you'll pay. Can you be put on your parents insurance just until you get older? Then it will be cheaper for you

Sorry, but most places won't rent you a car because of your age and the short time you have been driving. Just be glad that you have a car, when I was 18, I had to ride a bicycle to and from work until I could afford a car. When I did get one it was a old 86 beat up Ford Ganada, but to me it was the finest limousine that money could buy.

In the UK, the law is that a car may only be hire to someone over the age of 21. At 21, you can only hire low class vehiclesl like a Vauxhall Corsa. At 25, you can hire high class vehicles like Mercedes etc...
Most Hire companies will also require you to have held a full driving licence over a year regardless of your age.
So all I acan suggest is to be patient and wait till your 21.

Sorry, but normally you have to be21 to hire a car, for some reason . You've passed your driving test and so are qualified to drive your own car or somebody else's who is prepared to put you on the insurance. Basically, wait until you are 21.

You normally have to be 25 to rent a car, sometimes 21, but 18 is too young.

Yes. The primary problem is that you are 18. Insurance companies know you are very likely to smash up the car so they tell the rental agencies not to rent to you reckless idiots.

You could probably rent it, but you may need a co-signer with more experience. Yes the insurance will be higher, especially if it is a sports car.

Huge problem.
Most 18 year olds dont bother with the test or hiring a car , a cordless drill and some scotchloks will usually get you in to the banger of your choice, and get it hot wired then just remember to torch it to destroy the prints DNA etc when you have finished with it.
