AGREE! i dont have kids now, but when i do i want to adopt. i plan on having at least three children, and would like to experience pregnancy at least once, but i definitely would like to adopt at least once. i think adoption is so important, and i dont understand why some people refuse to adopt, even when they are not physically able to have children.

Maybe if they made it a little easier to adopt a child then more people would adopt.....
If you want to adopt you have to basically let the system invade your home and molest you (figure of speech) take classes ect ect ect.. for what could be YEARS before they even put your name on a list dubbing you a "fit" parent...
When any average even moron could open their legs and have a baby.. No special classes for that huh?
Unless you're adopting overseas (which is a total pain in the butt) your name is going to go to the bottom of the barrel if you are capable of having your own children.. And then you'd probably never get a baby.. you'd get a hard to place older child.. that already knows you're not it's mom and dad...
I believe if you can make your own children you should make your own children.. and leave the adoption up to the people who truly want children and don't have the capacity.

Adoption is great my little sister was adopted. Think of it from his perspective though. In an adopted child you can't try to guess who he looks like and that she gets her little temper from your mom. I want to adopt one day, but I can tell you that I love looking at my daughter and seeing my mother and father in the little faces she gives me. I also love the fact that she was made from love. Even if you adopt and raise a child from infantcy there is a chance that the birth mother could come back around one day. Do you really want to share your child? I love knowing that my daughter is mine and no one can take her away. Also there is nothing better than feeling your child grow inside of you. I love it when my son kicks me and I know this is my last pregnancy so I enjoy it more. Adopted children deserve to get families, but your boyfriend and you deserve to see "your" child grow up. You can always adopt as well, but don't loose out on the one thing that women can do that men can't. It is something very special.

I think that both are good options. I wanted to have a baby because I wanted the experience of being pregnant and giving birth and I enjoyed making and growing my babies. I have nothing against adoption, in fact I am considering adopting when I am older as pregnancy is not always advised at an older age.

The only problem that I can see from adopting is that you will never know the past history of the child. The medical background, if this child has been abused and will wake up at night with nightmares, and the list goes on and on and on. With the pleasure of your own children you know what you are making most of the time.

I disagree to a point and agree to a point. I agree that more people should adopt, but everyone should have at least 1 or 2 biological children.

finacially not everyone can afford the hefty adoption fees. the waiting, especially when You could have a child of your own.
Most people want something biological to show the love between eachother.
I would love to help people, and my thing is after this baby (#2) I'm probably going to look into seriously being a serogate mother.
We had a hard time concieving baby #1, and Thought it was hard there are others who go thru far worst fertility treatments we did. I would love to carry a child for a couple who could not carry for themselves

I think you should have one and adopt another. I would LOVE to adopt a child, I hear it's VERY expensive though, it seems almost cheaper to have your own. Become a foster parent, I thought about that too (For later in life of course), it kills me how many kids out there need help.

adopting children is not easy. i am an adopted child and you have to wait on a list for years to get a child. not to mention the amount of money that it costs. for 28 years i was the only person that i knew was blood to me. now i have a son that i know is part of me. call my selfish, but i wanted my own biological children.

It is not easy to adopt children, and not as many are up for adoption as there used to be, because of the increase in abortions.
Why not come to a compromise, and have one of your own, and adopt another.
