Also, are these cars reliable, I had a 1992 Dodge Shadow with a 5 speed that was great and got good mileage, but I don't know how good the Neons are. Thinking of buying a used one.

the neon's are really good ,,actually better than the shadow's,,on a automatic you can expect about 28-30 mpg,,and on the standard you may get around 32-35,or better on it,,if its tuned right,,i own a repair shop,,and i tune a lot of these up,,if there running right the do really good on fuel,,good luck i hope this help,s

The neon will be more reliable than your Shadow. Chrysler has improved leaps and bounds over their cars from the early 90's. I would expect about 35 mpg as long as you don't drive like hillbilly. If you can get past the "cute" stigma, Neons are great little cars. Although if you can afford it, a Focus might be a better bet.

I had a neon with a stick and it would get super mileage
high 30's - like 37-38 - only car I ever owned that got better than the EPA ratings

probably about 35 mpg, hey, it's a Dodge, you cant have everything
