First of all it is important to know that cops get tazed in the academy as well as gased and pepper sprayed. They know first hand what its like. And yes criminals get a warning before it is used. As for it killing people it is NON-LEATHAL! If you have some health issue that a tazer can kill you then you should stop when the officers give you warning. Duh! And a firearm less painful? What about the recovery time? I'm so disapointed in how uniformed the general public is. Our police need our support. They are the ones being treated unjust by the very people they protect.

Sure don't. It is a much better tool for incapacitation instead of shooting and killing someone with a firearm in a lethal force situation. I have been hit with a tazer before, it feels like fire through your body. As soon as the trigger is released the sensation goes away, and you are back to good to go. It has proven to be useful in preventing suicide by cop, and has saved more lives than it has cost. It is also effective against people on various drugs, where nothing else really works Given the choice I would much rather get hit with the Tazer than pepper spray. . Depending on how your body reacts to the pepper spray it can be absolutely miserable. The burning sensation lasts for quite sometime after being sprayed.
Final verdict Tazer is a humane and less cruel alternative that is highly effective.

Not at all. Seeing that a less than lethal option exists and the possibility that the criminal can be taken down without injury to the officer or the criminal (besides the fact that the criminal can fall), I think that all Police Officers and even Corrections Officers should carry them. I have been Tased as part of training and certification on them and feel that they are a wonderful tool for police departments. If presented with the option of getting pepper sprayed or tased I go with the TASER. For one the pepper spray causes disorientation, eye problems, can catch fire due to the alcohol dispersal agent, cause contacts to "melt" on the eye and the biggest one some people aren't effected by pepper spray. The taser causes instant response, not long lasting effects, once the five seconds are up the criminal can move (most don't want to though for fear of being tased again) and it is reusable as long as the darts stay attached.

Yes, I think so because the tazers might actually hurt someone or if they get into the wrong hands kill someone than the force I think would say it was a accident when they don't even know the situation.Think of a person with an illness and the police might not know and they use it and they put someone in the hospital then what.

not at all i think they are a great tool in stoping someone with out having to kill them. the tazer dose not leave any lasting dammage i would rather be tazered then shot or peper sprayed. if a cop shoots you you will more then lilkey kill you, i know if i get peper sprayed i am sure i would die because i am actualy extreamely allergic to it. Tazers are so much better because they shoot you with it and if you stop they stop shocking you if you keep fighting they will keep shocking you. Also the vast majority of people that get hit with a tazer hit the ground ant that takes most of the fight out of them so thre are less injuries to the officers

they are great, it saves alot of lives, and also keeps people from getting hurt worst.

Often the only other choice a Officer would have is to use thier ASP ( night stick) or mace, or perhaps in a serious situtaion using thier gun.

For the person refusing to get out of thier car, or refusing to get out of a public library where you would hurt the area using Mace,

So do you want to start wacking them with a ASP and or a tazer that only lasts a few seconds with almost no harm at all.

TAZERs are the best improvement in law enforcement in the last decade. Litterally thousands of people have been saved from being killed because a TAZER was available and deployed.

Yes. Besides the fact that a person can be injured by the way their body deals with the shock, the police are just going to be abusing them the way they abuse their night sticks, mace, and guns.

I think they are better the guns. Anyone see Futureweapons last night with the Shock Box, and the lasers. That was sweet. Saved one victim's life, and captured both suspects. I mean anything can be good, or bad to anyone.
