How do i insert formulas in Excel?

I need help on trying to insert formulas in Microsoft Excel and copying formulas to other cells. Thanks :)

Formulas always being with =

So click the cell, press = then start your formula ie =C1+C2 in cell C3 will show the sum of the preceeding two cells.

What kind of formula do you need? Here are some samples

=SUM(C2:C25) This sums column C, row 2 through column C, row 25.
=SUM(O2:R2, T2:U2, W2:Y2) This is if you need sums from different places on the sheet.
=S2*S5 This is for multiplication
=S2/S5 Division
=S2-S5 subtraction

To copy formulas,

use the following shortcut: copy the cell just like you normally would do, then right click the mouse, choose pasts special and tell it to paste the formula. If the cell has specific formatting, such as currency, tell it to paste all.

If you continue to have problems, just go to the help menu, which is what I did, when I was learning.

I have found the following site very good with any Excel problems. I could tell you how to do this but I find it hard to do so without demonstating it. There is a way to copy down formulas but you have to be careful about what cells you need to make absolute among other practices. That's basically it. There are many built-in formulas in Excel - go to Inserts in toolbar, drop down to Functions. See if a usable formula is there.

To copy to another cell, just cut and paste to use the same formula. If you want the same formula and data, just put = and the cell. For instance, if you want to see what's in C8 in G14, just go to G14 and enter "=C8"
