In my opinion, This would be no contest, you're comparing apples to oranges here. Sugar Ray Robinson was pound for pound the Greatest fighter of all time, not in a era where there's nobody for him to fight. He did not duck anyone. He had 175 - 19 - 6 with 109 K.O's.
Floyd Mayweather 36 - 0, is completely untested, who has he fought to earn the title "Pound for Pound"? He beat a cocky Zab Judah, a very old and beaten up Gatti and people are quick to call him "Great"? Why is he fighting Baldomir next when he could have made 6 million dollars more to fight Antonio Margarito? Do you honestly believe his answer that "He wants to collect as many belts as possible" Boxing is a business and in this business it's all about the money today.
Do you think Ray would have skipped any of his fights against Jake LaMotta because he wanted to collect belts? Do you think Ray would've skipped 8 million dollars for any fight? The days of true "Champions" are over, what you have today is a disgrace to the sport. Floyd wont face Antonio Margarito or Oscar De La Hoya for whatever his reasons are. Imagine if Sugar Ray said "No!" to Fullmer, Lamotta, Basilo, Graziano and Maxim?
Sugar Ray would stop Floyd in 5 rounds no if ands or buts about it. Ray fought the way better competition, future Hall of Famers who has Mayweather fought that is going to the Hall of Fame?. Floyd's tuck his head into his left shoulder and roll away from a head shot by shifting his weight to his rear foot would be talior made for Sugar Ray's devestating left hook to the body. Ray was naturallly the bigger man and his power would be evident from the opening bell.

Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter of all time 175 wins and 19 losses in 25 years of boxing. Floyd Mayweather would be a cinch for Robinson, he doesn't even belong in the same arena as Robinson.

Mayweather is good and certainly would hold his own against many of the greats. However, he is NOT in Robinson's league. Mayweather could survive some early rounds. However, Robinson could match him for speed, movement and combinations.

Robinson had superior power and ability to take a punch. He would have to chase Floyd around a bit. THis is because Floyd would learn, early, that Robinson could hurt him. A right cross/left hook would nearly drop Floyd in round 2, forcing him to get on his bicycle.

In rounds 3 and 4, Robinson would have to chase Floyd, occasionally catching him with body shots. Floyd opens up with a 5 punch combination late in the 5th. It would be his last. Robinson catches Floyd with a left to the jaw during that exchange. Flyod wobbles and runs.

In the 6th, Robinson catches Floyd again and drops him with a left hook/straight right. Floyd rises and attempts to retreat. Robinson catches Floyd against the ropes and unleashes a 5 piece, right-left-left-right, with the final right missing as Floyd pitches forward to the canvas, landing on all fours.

A still conscious Mayweather rises at 8, ready to continue. The ref gives him his chance but, after a five punch combination, the ref has seen enough.

Robinson by KO in 6

Home boy, I see that you are smoking some of that good stuff and the same to anyone that thinks "Pretty Boy'" could win.
Robinson is also prettier than Floyd.

Mayweather - W 36 (KO's 24) TF 36 - W pct 100% - KO pct 67% - wins over Corrales, Judah, Gatti and S. Mitchell - KO'ed by none
Won titles at 130, 135, 140 and 147
As of 2004, he was 2nd ranked pound 4 pound current fighter
Won 1996 Bronze Olympic medal at Feather wt

Robinson - W 173 (KO's 108) TF 200 - W pct 87% - KO pct 54% - wins over Zivic{2}, LaMotta[4], Armstrong, Gavilan{2}, Olso[3], Basilio{2} and Fullmer - KO'ed by Maxim (heat exhaustion) - #11 ranked puncher - #1 ranked fighter
Lost 13 of his 19 loses after 40 yrs old

Floyd negates the only advantage (speed) he has by choosing to mix it up with Ray. Ray by a KO inside of 5 rds.

Sugar Ray Robinson is one of the all time greatest fighters with superior speed. footwork and power. Mayweather is not in the same league although he is a fine boxer. Sugar Ray would dominate this fight and take control using all of his ring skills and knock out Mayweather in 7 rounds.

As Santana said comparing apples to oranges Robinson was the bigger man and much better boxer. Robinson by KO round 5.
And I do believe he'd give Floyd a SERIOUS BEAT DOWN.

If Sugar Ray wasn't the best pound for pound, he was in the top 3 or 4. I don't think Mayweather would make that claim. Sugar Ray by a convincing unanimous decision.

Sugar is the perfect and best Welterweight of all time. you truly could seem up his list as he develop into not in any respect beaten through a welterweight. Unbeaten as an novice he has wins over about a dozen H.O.F. members from Henry Armstrong & Fritzie Zivic through Jake Lamotta (about 5 cases) and develop into no longer in elementary words a quickly, impressive boxer yet a useful puncher with both hand. What makes him particularly risky is the organic savagery of his attack ! Mayweather in simple terms might want to no longer manage Sugar Ray! Watch him batter Jake Lamotta for the M.W. championship! Floyd might want to run, duck, bob, weave --- no count number Sugar might want to capture him and Floyd in simple terms might want to no longer commerce with him ! i'm no Floyd hater. in fact i imagine his skills are equivalent to the different welterweight yet no longer antagonistic to Sugar Ray. by the way Ray might want to truly kill a smaller guy like Pacquaio!
