Try Gaiam has 3 DVD's: Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss, Quick Start Yoga for Weight Loss, and Yoga for Weight Loss Maintenance all with yoga instructor Suzanne Deason.

Includes 15-minute morning yoga practice CD and bonus online access to a complete holistic weight loss/nutrition guide designed by wellness expert and life coach Dr. James Rouse. Suitable for all levels.

I highly recommend these DVD's. As a certified yoga instructor, I have watched many yoga instructional DVD's and Gaiam by far has produced the best. They offer clear instructions and are beautifully shot.

You might want to start with a "Yoga for Beginners" type of DVD like: http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product/91-0216 .

Any activity is better than no activity. But different poses require different amounts of energy to be expended. For weight loss specifically, you might try something like this: http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product/91-9147_MSTR

The trick is to go at your own pace. Even if you are taking a class, don't expect the instructor to know if a certain pose is hurting you. Just take it easy at first and it will come naturally with time.
