Wondering what type: size, voltage, ohms, etc LED I need to pay.
I know I need resistors to limit the current, but what kind and where to get it on line. I'm thinking about running 5-6 LEDS in a serie circuit. Any kind of help would be great.

Making your own is a nice, neat little project.
But, realize that you can use them FOR SHOW USE ONLY!
Something you build yourself will not be DOT accepted and therefor not legal for road use.

If you are still interested, e-mail me and I will look it up. I haven't done a project like this in years, and it would be good exercise for my stagnant brain.

have you ever checked the bulbs in yet another tail mild? the position the brake mild and tail mild use an identical bulb, the bulb consists of 2 filaments - one for brake light fixtures (21 Watts) and one for tail light fixtures (5 Watts). it really is amazingly hassle-free for one filament to interrupt, yet the different to nevertheless paintings usually. for that reason, you want to interchange the bulb with one with 2 operating filaments. yet another chance is that someone has placed a unmarried-filament bulb in the position there must be a twin-filament bulb (which may require somewhat of brute stress, because the bulbs and bulb-holders are designed to make certain this does no longer happen), and the centre contact on the bulb is contacting only the brake-mild contact contained in the bulb-holder. Or the dual-filament bulb would nicely be contained in the incorrect way round (again will require some brute stress), which may go away the bulb at an attitude contained in the bulb-holder, and by no skill making excellent contact.
