I hadn't heard that... it would be a complete a contradiction to turn Atheism into a religion. The definition of religion is "(1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
" and the definition of Atheism is "the denial of the existence of God or gods and of any supernatural existence". I know there is a group called the American Atheists that is for the advancement of atheism, and the total, absolute separation of government and religion. Maybe that's what you're talking about?

Religion means 'God belief.' or 'The set of ideas that you have to have and the things that you have to do to satisfy your God belief.'

So the, 'Atheism religion,' would be, 'The no God at all, God belief?' or 'The set of ideas that you have to have and the things that you have to do to satisfy your disbelief in God?'

Athough we DO have to have a 'set of ideas' it is beyond me why anyone could imagine that this is even quasi-religious. Of course you don't have to do anything to satisfy your atheismness.

Religion needs dogma and creed, rules that they follow that separate one sect of believers from another. Atheism ......for the life of me I can't think of one thing that an atheist has to believe in....as opposed to just NOT believe in.

Evolution....nope...no rule about that. It's perfectly valid to say that you have not studied that field and you know as much about the Theory of evolution by natural selection, as you do about the inner workings of a Television set.

I refute your question, therefore your comment is invalid.

Pray, in what way is atheism, which simply means a lack of belief in the existence of supernatural beings, "turning into a religion"?

Atheism can never be a religion, because they don't believe in anything.

Well, it isn't turning into a religion. It is no more a religion than NOT COLLECTING STAMPS is a hobby. You don't believe in Thor, do you? Is NOT believing in Thor a religion?

You must have been absent the day they taught critical thinking.

"I contend that we are both atheists.  I just believe in one fewer god than you do.  When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." ~ Stephen Roberts
