Imagine you’re self 100 times hungrier imagine not even having food even though the fast has ended well that’s how people in the third world are going through. There will be test during Ramadhan and each Muslim will be able to determine and reflect on his/her strengths or weaknesses

Ramadhan isn’t only about not eating food or drink but it’s about being good and respectful if you already are not. In Ramadhan you should do a lot of good deeds as one good deed will be multiplied by 10 to 70 times more. Ramadhan is the month were a weak and bad Muslims becomes a good Muslim to receive great reward and forgiveness.

You should reflect on the poor and the Prophet (pbuh), In this month alone you are able to obtain the Most rewards. Allah said that even if a believer has sins that start from the sinners head and end at the doors of heaven he will still forgive that person if he/she repents. Allah is the all Mercyful and all Kind.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "When Ramadhan comes, the doors of Heaven are opened and the doors of hell are closed and the devils are put in chains and the doors of Mercy are opened."

You have to be strong, first of all. At least you know it's for a limited time and you get dinner in the evening. The poor ones don't know if they'll get a meal tonight.

Passing the time without wasting it is the best. Now is your chance to make the most of your time and read Quran, do extra prayers, help someone else, read Islamic books, etc.

We as a family actually (try to) stay away from the TV and computer chat during Ramadan, and be more productive with our spare time. And think about what might make Allah more pleased with us.

Good luck and salams.

OK here is 2 things that I do to keep my mind off food, I try to think of the wisdom of fasting, that we are doing this to feel of the poor ones who can`t afford to buy food, I get delighted when I remeber this

also if you have a hot weather like I do were I live, Try sleeping until the Sunset call to prayer, that will do

the 1st thing that comes to mind when i am hungry is usually--how self-centered i am being, i should be thankfull to allah that i have food i can look forward to.
There is many in the world, muslims and non-muslims with no food at all. think of the muslim brother and sisters that are opening fast with no food. the little children that are dying whether in iraq or africa. How fortunate we are that allah has food ready for us to open our fast.

Your right that keeping busy will help keep your mind off of hunger, but also remember that one of the reasons for fasting is to remind us of those that go without all the time. When it gets uncomfortable turn your thoughts to the things that Ramadan means--pray--do charitable acts, and it will be sun down before you know it.

Either SLEEP, or KEEP BUSILY OCCUPIED, or PRAY...because when fasting mostly you're not allowed or rather supposed to be self-disciplined not to have neither any liquids to drink nor any food to eat during the given hours.

The #1 thing to do is sleep sleep sleep. Any spare time you have, sleep. when I come from school, I sleep. Or you can watch TV. Don't think about food too much.
