We lock him in the bathroom for about a total of 4 hours a day, and he had literaly almost chewed his way out. We tried the anti chew spray on the door, but it just isn't working???

Your dog is freaking out left alone in the bathroom. It's not just a desire to chew the wood. You should try a crate. In my case it did not work. My dog would kill herself trying to escape the crate. It may be separation anxiety. The only thing that worked in my case was an outdoor run connected to my shed. She was able to stay calm outdoors. Good Luck! :)

The dog is bored, lonley and knows there is freedom on the other side of the door.

I suggest crate training. We fostered a boxer once who ate through sheet rock while we were at the grocery store. He had to be crated.

This is a wonderful site for crate training

If you´re gonna lock him up you shouldnt have him in the first place.... how would you like to be locked in a bathroom for 4 hours?... give him to someone who will look after him and love him... you obviously dont

I'd get a crate (a metal one) that he can't chew through and get himself into trouble. They're a bit expensive but definately worth it.

why don't you buy him a crate instead of locking him in the bathroom...a big strong crate sounds necessary...otherwise he will be able to escape.......

why is he locked in the bathroom to begin with?

i agree with getting him a crate, it sounds like you can't put him outside(apartment?). when you do crate him give him something to do ie; rawhides or chew toys. even dogs get bored.
