I identify most with Peter. Peter was a practical man, and in many ways an unlikely candidate to have faith in Christ as God's Son. He was so...reasonable, and he had a particular distaste for lovey-doveyness. Yet he was loyal, which is how he showed his love and faithfulness. While John, for example, was in rapt adoration toward Christ, Peter loved him practically...and yet came to believe one of the most seeming impractical things ever: that this man was God. Such a leap for a hands-on man like Peter--and it made the leap more moving and amazing, at least in my eyes. That is, it was not mere sentiment that Peter loved Christ. And if anybody could be charged with gullibility, it is most certainly not Peter.
Moreover, Peter was prideful. His denial of Christ astonished him and filled him with bitterness. He believed that no way, no how, would he deny Christ...and in his failure to pray to God before Christ was taken, and in his reliance upon who he thought he was and what he thought he could do, he ended up failing. I have done this in my life too...and I intimately connect with Peter in this way. That said, his failure has been instructive to me, and his example has spurred me to pray to God to learn who I am before I just go assuming things about myself.
Last, Peter's dedication to build Christ's church is inspiring. Again, you take this fisherman, who gave up what was wrong at Christ's suggestion, and who followed Christ and loved him...someone who believed in what was divine even though he worked daily in "the real world".... I don't know, there is just something so honest, real, and interesting to me about Peter, and I admire him a lot.

Satan would have to be my favorite....not the hateful and harmful aspect of satan, but I do identify with satan's rebellious nature.
I view the god depicted in the bible as a ruthless dictator in the mold of a Hitler type persona....The bible god is ruled by his/her/it's emotions and the inability to control those emotions, that is why there are so many instances of "God" throwing a 6 year old's temper tantrum.
And just like Hitler, the bible god, in the OT anyway, definately favors one race of humans over all others...and the humans the bible god does not favor all get murdered, men, women and infants destroyed because of a god that cannot extend his love to all his creations equally, because of a god that cannot control his anger or his jealously.
I would rebel against such a god right alongside of satan any day of the week....I am surprised so many would rather just be sheep and do the whole "obey your dictator god" bit...but then again, look at how many Germans went along with Hitlers madness.

Peter. I'm brash. I can understand him bragging that he would never deny Christ and then denying Him three times. I can relate to Him trying to cut off a soldier's ear for laying a hand on the Lord.
I can also relate to Peter's redemption, forgiveness for his denial, and his passion for the gospel. Peter and I are kindred spirits, even if I am a woman.

I would like to have the inner peace the Dahli Lamma seems to have. He seems so incredibly happy. I know he's not biblical, but I don't relate to anyone in the bible except Job..and that's not for a good reason.

I would like to be like Mary - Jesus' mom. Can you imagine what an awesome gift you were given - wow. I would love to be Mary because I think my child would be able to teach me so much. I wouldn't want to see his death though - not in person. I suppose I feel a bit like Job - one thing after another right now - God doesn't give us anything we can't handle

The Apostle Paul. Why? Because he went through a lot in his life. He underwent many trials and tribulations. He even had an internal conflict with himself. I have had many trials and tribulations. In fact, I am in one now. I have internal conflicts with myself and it is a struggle. Additionally, Paul had a "thorn in the flesh," who is better known as Satan the Devil. Satan is my thorn in the flesh because he wants me to live a life independent of God and amass riches and material things. Moreover, Paul and I worship the same God, whose name is Jehovah. However, like Paul, I have endured the trials that I have faced with the help of prayer because I cannot endure without Jehovah's help.

I was told I lived at the time of Moses. The third generation down,
and my father taught me something. If that's true, I would sure like to know who that was.
