I'd think they'd be fired...but who knows besides T.O the real story? and he *ain't* gonna say it's true now! There are so many famous peopple that OD on some drug and then when the story comes out that it was an attempted suicide they deny it...so they either are complete drug addicts that can pop 23 pills at a time or they are trying to commit suicide- is one better to admit to than the other?

They didnt necessarily fabricate the story...they used what they saw and made the report accordingly until told differently at which they changed the whole report and blacked out the attempted suicide. I mean they found an empty bottle, TO in a partial coma, and when they tried talking with him he was so out of it that who knows what he said. Now I think the Dallas police are morons for this reason, they expected TO and his publicist to offer an apology to the dept. LoL for what????? I am a HUGE Cowboys fan and TO fan, TO's story makes sense b/c he mixed pills he already took with new prescription pills for his pain after his finger surgery and they may have had a reaction. Also if the police would have opened his drawer (they finally figured it out) they would have noticed the empty pill bottle was b/c he emptied his pills into the drawer...morons. Anyways, they made their judgement based on what they could put together, you dont punish the law for being retarded or else we would always be punishing the law.

Police Officers often use "creative" tactics on the police reports.
They lie on them all of the time and it is the defendants word against theirs. When it comes down to that the police always win unless a witness testifies. And it usually takes video as evidence that a police officer lied. Police lie and break the law all the time. It's considered a perk. Try to stay out of the system and things aren't so bad. The cops will never be around when you need them and always around when you don't. They only show up after a crime was committed and then only focus on arresting someone so their stats look good for a promotion.

Take the call and badge volume if accessible to receive and record a grievance with the branch. in case you call and ask the thanks to record a grievance they could grant you with a sort, if no longer a letter directed to the govtwill paintings. Describe the concern that got here about and no matter if that's some thing that quite justifies an inner affair then the branch will with a bit of luck manage it remarkable. no matter if that's a stupid grievance then do not anticipate some thing to be performed. keep in options we get courtroom situations per week for stupid stuff the position human beings have unrealistic expectancies of a police officer. Your case does no longer sound like that, even with the indisputable fact that.

The police report what information is given to them if they are not at the scene. Where did the police lie?

Later, when asked by police if he'd taken the remaining 35 pills from a 40-pill prescription, Owens told police he had. And when asked if he was attempting to harm himself, Owens replied, "Yes."

Asked at Wednesday's news conference after his discharge from the hospital why he told police he was trying to harm himself, Owens said, "I was kind of out of it. I can barely even remember the doctors, much less the police officers asking me questions."

punishment would be prosecution and possible dismissal. The report is a recording of facts as stated by involved parties and observations by the officers. whats the lie?

Police merely put down what they are told or what they see.

It may not be the truth, that is why people are found not guilty all the time, sinice the jury decides guilty or innocent.

So the officers don't put a story, they merely put down what they are told.

the police reports usually don't make it to court if there is even a small, small mistake made on the report.
if they get a color or even the direction something was going, the police report gets dropped and nothing happens.
what was lied about on the report?

How do you know they lied? If they did they should be fired at the very least because they can't be trusted.

What should TO's punishment be if he's lying?

I would hope that they would be fired. But the police officers take care of their own and this includes covering up any wrong doings by their "brothers"
