I love how people are answering this question like they've been to heaven and have a definitive knowledge of it. The truth is, no one knows if there are "degrees" of heaven (or if heaven even exists). I don't recall the paragraph in the bible that reads:
And God said, "Let there be heaven! And I will create different degrees of it -- as a kind of filing cabinet -- to which humans I like the best!"
...nor do I recall specific passages that state that there is only a single "level" of heaven.
Then again, it all depends on which religion you follow. But keep and mind that we can't ALL be right.

GS Degrees of Glory
Jesus said, In my Father’s house are many mansions, John 14: 2 (Ether 12: 32). There is one glory of the sun, and another of the moon, and another of the stars, 1 Cor. 15: 40-41. Paul was caught up to the third heaven, 2 Cor. 12: 2. There is a place of no glory and everlasting punishment, D&C 76: 30-38, 43-45. There are three degrees of glory, D&C 76: 50-113; 88: 20-32.

You can either live a good live and go to heaven or live a not so good one and go to hell. There are not degrees, classes or sections of any kind. There is no grading scale. You are to follow the ten commandments and be a kind, just, gentle, and honest person and earn eternal life in heaven or ... go the other direction which is not so pretty. NOT everyone you love and not all those you think are good people will make it into heaven. Depends on their faith in God as much as how they lived their llife. Ask Jesus into your heart and start fresh today!

Jesus said," In my Fathers house there are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you and I go to prepare a place for you that where I am ye may be also." I was raised in a Christian home and went to church every time the doors opened. Somewhere I was told, that there will be degrees of reward in Heaven. You may have a mansion, and I will be the one in the pup tent in your back yard. I would also like to add,Purgatory is not mentioned anywhere in the Holy Bible Also you cannot "earn" your way to Heaven, if you could, then Christ died in vain.

Actually, there is. On spiritual levels, that is. When you become born-again God's DNA is put into your spirit and that's kind of when your spirit is birthed. Then, as you get closer to God (reading the Bible, sitting in a quiet place waiting for him to talk to you, spending time with Him) your spirit begins to age like, maybe it becomes a toddler. Then, so forth. It doesn't go according to our ages, like 1 year or whatever. So, the closer you are to God the higher level in the spirit because God will begin to give us visions, dreams, he might speak to us and will share secrets to us or even call us to be an intercessor. So, yes there is.
The higher level you're on in the spirit, the higher level you are in Heaven.

Pass-Fail basis.
Look at all the parables of the prodigal son and the farm hands that received equal wages for an unequal days work. Also remember how Jesus assured the criminal, that was crucified next to Him, would go to Heaven.
Good question. Its a real testament to God's Love and Grace.

Creation is multi-dimensional. Genesis says God divided the waters above the firmament, from the waters below the firmament, and called the firmament HEAVEN.
The astral is supposed to be three dimensions. The lowest full of
psychic "trash". 2 Corinthians 12 talks about astral projection and mentions the third heaven. KJV.
Take it from there my friend.

Do you really think that a bunch of flithy humans can comprehend what is really in the after life. We can barely overcome our flithy habits of humping, and killing one another.
Religion is nothing more than a simple rouse to make you feel better about your shortcomings, inperfections, personal faults, and physical/emotional/mental loses in life. Do not put to much wait into religion, they are no better than daily horoscopes.

I'm doing the duck-in-cover behind my friend to get through the gate. He promised me a free pass. Said he earned it for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't get past Peter. No way I can earn it myself. Maybe you know my friend? Jesus.
