It definitely depends on the man. The important thing is what makes YOU happy and hopefully, you will find a man that will like you as you are, including your preferences.... accepting them as part of the whole.
Some men are old fashioned and think women should be at home, some men are more open to women independence and are willing to share household and raising kids responsibilities.
I wonder why you are interested on knowing men preferences... I hope it is not to make your own decision.

Both. A housewife to keep her away from men in the work place. A working mom to get her money.

To me, motherhood is the hardest and most important "job" of all. I prefer that my wife be at home with our children, rather then the children being raised and trained by a baby-sitter, nanny, day-care worker, etc.
There are some women who can do it all, maybe not all very well, but they can do most of it kinda ok. However, it's a flat-out lie that women in general can do it all and do it all well -- something has to give. And, historically, men have not valued and appreciated the work women did in the home (or anywhere for that matter).
So, to answer your question, as a father, I prefer that my children's mother be home with them, even after they start school. If my wife wanted to work outside the home after the children were in school, then i would prefer that she be home reasonably soon after they get out of school.
Women have gotten a bum deal from men, but the answer is not to dismiss the value of stay-at-home motherhood that is critical to the survival of our culture (as crappy as it's apparently turing out to be).

I loved being a housewife. I loved being waiting to play with my son all day, clean at the same time as he changed into taking a nap, and performance dinner waiting at the same time as my husband got here abode. i idea it changed into the bees knees.....yet at that aspect i had by no skill had to paintings an afternoon in my existence. i keen to get a job to usher in extra money (i'd like with the intention to have sufficient money something my baby needs for birthdays and xmas' as he receives older and that only would not happen the way issues were) and positioned that i somewhat delight in getting out of the abode. the precedence now must be i by no skill have the flexibility to play and performance relaxing with my relatives. i'm now awaiting my 2d baby and that i'm in college at the same time as operating finished time. i'm so dissatisfied that i can not get those first 9 months with this one like i did my first. i must be a housewife again, if only till this toddler is born and somewhat older yet now i'm stuck operating and that makes me somewhat bitter. i wager.....the grass is continually greener on the different area......

It depends on the guy and his view of the type of wife he wants when I got married the first two years I worked and finished my masters degree and took care of the house. Some men prefer to work and have a wife at home to cook meals and clean the house then you have some men who wants a wife to work and have equal share of the household expenses.

It depends upon the need of the family and if the woman is willing to sacrifice her time to doing either. This issue always has a double edge. The woman however should never stay at home or work just to please a man. She should do either because it is her choice and to her benefit to do so.

IN THE 50'S FMILY'S WERE TOGETHER MORE DUE TO THE MOM BEING HOME ALL OF THE TIME. AND MEN LIKE IT BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKEN CARE OF BY THEIR MOTHER, IT MAKES THEM FEEL LOVED WHEN WE TAKE CARE OF THEM. I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORK. I AM SICK OF IT. NOT TO SAY A HOUSE WIFE DOESNT WORK. I DO BOTH! ALWAYS HAVE AND WOULD LOVE TO STAY HOME BUT DON'T WANT MY GUY TO HAVE TO WORK 2 JOBS. I WOULD NEVER SEE HIM AND I LIKE HIM TO MUCH TO DO THAT TO OUR RELATIONSHIP. NOW MY X HUSBAND,, DIDN'T LIKE HIM AND WAS GLAD HE HAD 2 JOBS! NEVER SAW HIM!

No question - a housewife.
There is something sexy about a woman who provides nuturing and housekeeping duties for her husband. I think its important for the woman to take care of the kids and the house.
Sure the businesswoman may look sexy in her outfit, but I also admire a woman in an apron.
