Israel is described as a bride having a veil over her head that does not allow her to see before her wedding.

At one time, the groom discussed marriage to her father with a price to be paid, like a dowry. Then if the father accepted, the man proposed to the women. He went away to prepare a place for them. When he was ready he called the grooms party away unannounced to celebrate. After which he returned to claim his bride and lift her veil.

Jesus paid the price to the father with his life. God accepted. He is away right now preparing a place for his bride. When he is ready he will call away all of his groomsman. (Christians) to be with him to celebrate. He will then return 7 years later to claim his bride (Jews) He will then lift the veil and they will be able to see that he is the Messiah.
