There are different kitten formulas on the market. Buy one at a vet - not a health food store. They are healthier. Perhaps the taste is the problem..

Also, eye droppers squirt out too much and the kitten doesn't get the sucking action. They desperatly need that sucking action to make the proper enzymes to digest the food. There are super small feeding bottles available. If you think the kitten one is to big buy a hamster one or someting.

Have you spoken to a veterinarian? Its odd that the mothers milk would dry up. Did she have just the one kitten? If so, she may be unwell and the kitten may need a lot more nutritional support than you are giving it (aka - may need soem steroids temporarily).

Good luck. I hope the little sweetie gets big soon.

use a eye dropper. new born kittens are frequently to in risk of suckle the nipples that include the bottle set. a dropper provides you with some administration over how a lot she receives at one time. an option determination I truly have used with newborns is to get a rabbit nipple ( its the lengthy skinny one once you've one).. poke 3-4 holes in it with a warm sewing needle. then fairly of using the bottle. I pushed the nipple through the nook of a plastic zip lock baggie and held it in position with a small hair rubber band around the bag and nipple. you position milk in the baggie and there is not any " vacuum" for the kitten to paintings antagonistic to. each and every suck supplies you milk clone of mama does. toss the baggie even as its empty. i found i can make a days worth of milk at a time for a sparkling born and in simple terms positioned the hollow challenge in the refrigerator between food. also be particular she is warmth.. 90F on the towels. chilly kittens wont feed. so she truly needs it warmth If she hasnt fed quickly. call the vet and ask them to help you tube feed and to insert a feeding tube for her. She needs Cloustrum the first milk

It's completely normal. A friend gave me my siamese when he was a week old, he was so cute. Anyway I bottle fed him along and now he's a strong and healthy 2 yr old. An ear dropper is perfectly normal, I actually bought a bottle from the pet store.

I would first take the baby to the Vet to make sure there's no obstruction in the mouth or throat, using an eye dropper is fine as long as baby stays hydrated. my baby puppy fought me for a few days and then figured it out and now he's a happy 7 week old.

omg!! i had to feed a kitten and it is not easy. i had him since he was 2 days old and he only lived to be 8 days old. u have to make sure you keep him warm. i had to feed mine through a medicine dropper too. keep doing that no matter what. until he's like 3 weeks old. i started using a bottle after a couple days b/c everyone kept telling me he had to feel a nipple like his mom but he got dehydrated b/c he wasnt getting enough milk through a bottle. its hard work. just keep a heating blanket under his covers and put it on low. if he crawls around to the outside instead of the middle he's too hot. and make sure u keep the dropper clean.
