Here are a couple of ways to get gum out of your hair...
If the gum is in a small amount of the hair, just apply peanut butter or all over the area and mix it in until it comes out. Then just take a shower to wash out the peanut butter.
If the gum is spread out, use more peanut butter, or if it is not near your scalp, use ice.
Ice it for about fifteen minutes and it should have hardened enough to just take it off.
Apply cold cream to it. It will disappear quickly.
Fill your hair with vaseline.
Spread the vaseline around the area of the gum.
Take a wide tooth comb and comb the gum and most of the vaseline out of your hair.

Once I was in my car and I spit gum out of the window. Instead of going to the road, it landed in my very long hair. I put ice on it and it made it hard. Do not brush it! I know you don't want to cut your hair, but after you ice the gum you just cut what it is tangled in. You won't even notice. Oh, I have heard peanut butter helps as well.

Ice can freeze the gum off, just rub it all over the gum, then hold it there for a few minutes. You could also use peanut butter, but i makes your hair smell, but just wash it out with normal shampoo and conditioner. Good luck!

You might try holding a piece of ice on the gum long enough to get the gum hard and then try to pull gum out of your hair or you can put something oily all over it and that help it come out.

With gasoline. A clean cloth and blog the gum. The gas will dry your hair a little but you can put some treatment on it or at best hair conditioner, if none of the above.. use Mayonnaise.

Peanut butter or anything else with an oil base. It's hard to wash out but it's better than gum!!

any olive oil should help the gum slide off UR hair.
but it'll make a mess, while U work it out.
& wash thoroughly after, obviously.
I've tried a variation of suggestions, working with Playgroups & so far have found oil works the best.
shhhh we only had washing-up liquid 2 wash the poor kids hair.
Aren't some Kids the Pits!
What a way 2 behave.

Yeah, freeze it with ice for a while and scrape it off,
or put peanut butter on it and slowly work it out.
