How do you become hot and onfire for God? Any suggestions? How do you develop a passion to expand His Kingdom and develop sensitivity for the lost and poor and such an intense desire to be intimate for God?

You have to want to do it. If you don't really want to do it, then you won't. Don't worry, it's normal. Millions of christians like you run this country.

It is called 'delighting' in the Lord. It means that you enjoy studying His Word, you WANT to do what His word says and you enjoy spending time with the Lord through prayer. Some people get 'on fire for the Lord' This usually occurs in a brand new christian when they first accept Christ and they are 'over' exuberant. They go around talking about God every single minute. I am a christian and did experience being on fire for the Lord when I was a brand new Christian and that faded away. I delight now in the Lord and the Holy bible.

Many today are just sitting in the pews sing about standing on the promises.James spoke well when he said faith without works is dead.We show are faith by are works, not that we can be saved by works. We are saved through Jesus and nothing else.Jesus gave the reason for them not being hot in Rev.3:17.It was because they had come to a place of comfort and had failed to realize that God had so much more for them . They thought they were rich when really they had only begun to receive what God had in store for them.Just when I think I am were God wants me to be He has me move on and it's a blessing each time He does this for it brings me closer to Him.I hunger and thirst for more and more of His marvelous Grace . Praise God ,amen and amen!

First off pray, pray some more and pray some more. This involves total commitment on your part which will take great sacrifice on your part. Are you ready and willing to suffer with and for Christ? Are you ready to drink the same cup He drank? If so, hold on to God tight, your life is about to be turned upside down! Peace be with you snorty, and remember this, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." (Psalm 51:17)

Concentrate upon the sacrifice Christ made for us. Then think about how much love and care it would take to be willing to undergoe and endure such things as Christ did.

Then I would suggest that you also think about the love and care God has for us, to allow us to do what was done to his son and to also allow us to be the ways we are to one another. Lastly, think about how wise God is.

Consider the wisdom in what he tells us to do and not do. Look around and see the consequences of our not following Gods word. If you do these things, you will find that you become more and more impressed with God and your want to worship him pleasingly will increase.

y'know when i became a christian there were things i wanted to do and do for God etc etc, but it soon dawned on me that as soon as i laid it all at Gods feet and said "God do what you want with my life" it kinda came. My problem was doing things that i wanted to do, like going to the old ppls home (which was great, i loved it) and not what God wanted me to do. The calling you have on your life may not be to minister or witness or help the lost, it could be something else. pray and keep on praying i really had to perservere (soz sp) Thirst and it shall be given. Id advise going to a spirit filled church, once i received the baptism of the holy spirit my fire hasnt stopped burning really

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The more you study His word and pray (this is communion with God), the more you come to know the character of God. That is how you develop a relationship with God. How can you be "on fire" for someone that you don't know? You can't. Therefore, the more you acquaint yourself with Jesus Christ, the more love for Him will grow.

Interestingly enough, the things of God become more beautiful, richer and more perfect upon closer inspection. The things of the world are just the opposite; their flaws show.

Read the new testament and renew your relationship with the Lord. You have to be confident in your faith and not let anyone talk you out of what you believe to be true. If you are going to believe God is real and he gave you Jesus to die for your sins then you should believe it with all your heart and you should not be afraid to espouse it. If you do not believe then you should have the same zealousness to defend your thoughts and beliefs. If you are going to do something, do it all the way or not at all. You should never be satisfied with a job done half-assed.

when a bolt of lightning strikes you and you are still alive is when you are on fire for God. just kidding, Pray and read your Bible daily, fellowship with other Christians/true believers, seek elder/mentor wisdom(one on one Bible teachings or studies). Seek doing God's will for your life. Pray to Jesus for all of these things that you long for. Ask in Jesus' name and it will be given to you. It maybe instantly(your lucky if that happens to you), or it maybe a growth process. that is how it usually is, a growth process. You gotta make that effot as well. Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you. You gotta be willing to step out of your comfortable zone as well, because what you seek is in the uncomfortable zone, but the reward for those is everlasting!!! truly worth the journey!
