Depends on how serious you used to be, and why or how you broke up. But I say definitely you could be friends with an ex!

In my case, he's the best closest friend I've ever had. Don't know if it will ever go back to the dating/romance side, but we're absolutely happy with each other and whatever it is you call what we have right now!
If that makes sense... but yes, it's possible. Don't try to rush through the transition, just let it happen and above all, be honest with each other about everything.

Yes, I don't see why you can't be friends with someone who you used to date. Unless you two ended on bad terms, and that person hurt you, then I foresee a problem. It's always hard to forget something like that.

Aww, of course you can. I used to go out with this kid at camp, and eventually, he just started avoiding me. Later that week, he broke up with me. When I asked him about it, he said my friend said I was cheating on him (I wasnt) but he still said it would be better if we stayed apart, even after the conflict was resolved. Well, we live 2 hours apart now, but we talk on the phone every day. Honestly I refer to him as my best friend, not my ex-boyfriend

It depends on the person. I am good friends with three men that I have dated and I am still friends with my ex husband, sometimes:)

Only if I didn't have feelings for them and only if they treated me good when we were dating. Otherwise I dont need them as friends. But one or the other always has feelings and it turns ugly at some point.
