I didn't ask for their opinions, I am also respectful to their religious views. But for some reason, sometimes when I tell someone I get the "Well, you're going to Hell." speech. Also, how can I drop the hint to a few friends that I DON'T want to go to church with them when they ask repetedly and they already know my choice of religion?

There are no "dropping" hints. You have to be blunt with them. They believe strongly that people who are not their religion are going to hell. The feel like they are doing you a service. They feel like they would not be a good friend to you if they did not persuade you to join them.

They do not respect your views. They think that your views are false. They think that their way is the only way. In some religious such as Christianity they way that the Bible is written, it compels on to view all other beliefs as false. Any true Christian will believe this.

Just tell them to back off.

Christians bully people all the time, but when anyone criticizes one of them even in the slightest....look out! They start carrying on as if they're victims of a pogrom or something. I have to tell you that I don't believe that there is a nice way to get these people off your back. You can try a kind, polite refusal, but if they keep up, then tell them in no uncertain terms that you aren't buying what they're selling so they can just shut their big fat ignorant bigoted hateful mouths. Then watch...it never fails...they'll start acting like they're victims and you're being a meanie. If they are too full of their own ideology to respect you, then you do NOT have to respect them one ounce. As the old saying goes, if a man is standing on your neck, you have the right to make him get off of you. Don't take crap from Christians. Blessed Be.

If they were your friends, they would respect your choices. I have several pagan and athiest friends. I never force them to come to church with me, but a few have. A true friend doesn't push his/her religion onto anyone. I know they only want to "save your soul" because they love you, but they come across as pushy, right? You can't do much about strangers on the street who give you the speech, sorry, dear.

C4ndyGirl, You are wrong. Wiccans are pagans, but not all pagans are wiccan.

Now to answer your question. I am a pagan and I get the "you are going to hell" speech occasionally. I just smile and tell them I don't believe in hell, and they usually leave me alone.

Peace!

Send them a email(that way they cant cut you off like if you were talking to them) saying something along the lines of "I respect your religion,I really do,but I don't feel comfortable with being told I m going to hell all the time.It was nice to offer me a ride to your church, but I ll have to pass...."
GL!

Because they are ignorant. From what I understand the wiccan creed is Harm none. If your thoughts are placed in the right place and you are doing good deeds in relation to what is going on around you, no one should be able to hypothesise as to what your eternal resting place should be. God alone knows your heart and will be the one to determine where you will spend eternity. Anyone who tells you else wise is subjecting themself to double judgment from God. It is not our place to do so. None of us is perfect so we cannot even begin to know what is in God's mind. We cannot even begin to wrap our tiny minds around the infinity that is God. Blessings on you and have an angel touched day.

Fist of all, Wiccan and Pagan are two different things. Secondly, I am sorry that people come off to you like that when you tell them. Honestly, it is your choice, but take them telling you as a warning. People joke about hell all the time, saying it'll be fun and they can hang with satan. People dont usually understand the severity of going to hell. I am not trying to scare you into a believer, becuase thats the absolute worst way to get someone to come to Jesus. I am just telling you what thier intentions may be.

They state that you are going to Hell because in their fairytale, you would be...

And why not tell them that you will be happy to attend their church when they can give you any empirical evidence that their religion is anything but a myth?

Some people feel it's their duty to nag you into changing. All you should have to do is reply "no thank you", but that doesn't always work. On the other hand, you could join them one time. You may enjoy the fellowship. At least you could honestly say "tried it, and it's not for me".

They are closed-minded. Don't let them bother you. And ask them to come worship with you. If they do that, then you should consider going with them, just as an exercise in keeping an open mind.
