Personally, I think it's pretty crappy of him to make someone who honestly seeks him, to not have the ability to believe in him.

Take myself, for example. I lost my faith many years ago. And as it was happening, I prayed and begged God to take away my doubts. I wanted more than anything to continue to be a Christian.

If there is a god, (and of course there isn't...), he must be a real asshole, if you ask me... :)

There is a big part of you that's not convinced that there is a God and that is because right now your serving your flesh. You submit to almost it's every desire. But there are things at least I hope there is that you will not do because of something deep down with in that says no.This is the spirit of God that is given to all of us , it's a portion of Himself.Remember we are created in His image but I probably don't look nothing like you we are all different. It's the soul with in that is created in His image and not the flesh. Our flesh has no desire to serve God and will even convince some there is no God in order to please it's self. Whats ironic is that you will remain blind and deaf to this till you submit to the cry with in , and start serving and believing in God.Just try reading your bible for 1 week and see if the Spirit of God does not speak to your heart.Try reading the Gospel of John , Acts,Peter.Bare in mind that many of those that knew and walked with the Lord while here on the earth later died for the Gospel that was given to them , this is still happening today . Would you die for a hoax's ? I think not and neither did they.

Well if your like me you need proof and existence of everything. I'm the type of person that if you tell me that Adam & Eve were the 1st 2 people on the earth and that incest is a sin, then how did they reproduce? I think that fact that there are so many questions that don't have solid answers to them is the reason why we feel this way. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I don't believe, I think it all comes down to, "do you have faith". Very good question by the way! :-) Thumbs Up From Me!

No, not ironic, because the Bible has already prophesied about people like you. The Bible says that there are people on Earth who are "ever learning, but never coming to the knowledge of the Truth." There are people who will comtinue to amass knowledge and facts and improve themselves, but they will never accept the truth that God exists.
God had already predicted the creation of people who would reject the idea of His existence, though they are learned in other areas, about a thousand years before you were even born.

I wouldn't say ironic. Many believe that God has pre-ordained those who will and who will not be a part of his select children. Martin Luther and the Luthern religion is follows this teaching. Perhaps you are one of the many who will never have your eyes opened to the light and truth of God...

How does that make you feel?

On the other hand, the Bible is clear, seek and yea shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you.

Perhaps you should do some real soul searching and Bible study... time is fleeting

.....because my friend, you are one of the millions of decieved people on this planet. Satan will do everything possible to keep you a non believer. Ask yourself, are we here by absolute chance on this fantastic planet and mysterious universe, created by a big bang caused by neutrons or something that nobody has any idea where they came from, OR are we part of a very special creation where the possibilities are endless, and there is a plan for mankind? I mean, is it also by chance that oil, metal and other materials needed for space travel just happen to be found on our planet? Don't you think it was intended for mankind to progress this far and explore more of this wonderful universe? Well I don't know about you, but I believe we're part of something greater than ourselves. :)

You are going to dismiss this answer but I'll say it anyway.

Inside you is a God-given spiritual need.
Those who recognise this need properly, fill it with the counsel of God's word the bible.
But those who don't recognise it (you included) fill it with anything else. For example: material pursuits, excessive recreation, basically anything they think will bring them happiness in life.

The sad thing is, that a person who doesn't fill the need with the proper things (the sayings of God) will never be truly happy.

You may claim to be happy in your atheistic existence but you'll never be truly content.

Uncertainty: Why you cried when you were born!
You couldn't comprehend what was going on, now you are crying again, talking still the same language.
Learn the words of God, that's why you have been given the power of thought.

it's not ironic but self contradictory.
If god wanted you to be convinced of his existence he would give a hint now and then, not rely on here-say.
but if his existence is beyond proof, does it mean he does not exist.
or maybe he is not interested in our species anymore.
or maybe he can't respond anymore.
my opinion is "God was invented by advanced human brains, the human brain pool is slowly losing interest in this invention, but not without trouble"

God only gave you the power of thought to test your faith. If you read the bible it is clear you are not suppost to use it. God tore down the tower of babble because people were thinking too much. Also The fall of man was because Eve took an apple from the tree of knowlege. God does not what us to think to much. We are only suppost to worship him.
